Eastcoast to me is good and all, but they really don't bring "life" in their music like the cats out west... NAS is the cat that I admire from the East, but as for everyone else, they are just lyricist... and that's not what rap is about...

Nas's first is a gem, biggies 2 are both dope.. the second is more musical and has (for me) better beats, gang starr always come tight.. but its a bit samey in places. wu-tang i like the first two.. 36 chambers isn't the kind of shit i'd bump anymore, but its a good album , stuff like 'can it all be so simple' is dopeness.. ghostfaces album was good..

the problem with the east is, that anyone who comes from there is that they seem to become a legend automatically after their time has gone

Naw, just kiddin. the Rapgame is attractive to alot of people, some like lyrics better, some like beats and atmosphere better.

Both coasts have their history and traditions in the rapgame. It's up to you to choose which one suits you best.

As for me: I like the feel-good, gangsta-lyrics, upbeat style of westcoast more than the clever lyrics-oriented hiphop on the eastcoast.

Westcoast offers me a bigger dimension to look at with a long exciting history. From Eazy,Quick,Dre, snoop, 2PAC to eminem. They all were involved in something worth mentioning.

-Dre's beef with eazy, snoops involment
-the rise and fall of the most succesfull label in the rapgame
-Dre's work writing history with each album he releases(from NWA to 2001)
-2PACs beef with eastcoast MC's
-2PACs death
-the place where the most famous rapper came from: Snoop(he's the most well-known rapper, maybe 2PAC is more known now)
-The atmosphere surrounding suge everywhere he go's

This and alot of happy and sad happenings give me a reason to choose Westcoast-rap as MY favourite. It suits my state of mind best. Still, this doesn't give me the right to diss the other coast, live and let live.
