Restriction on mainstream rapper lyrics?

Which mainstream rapper do you think, that besides the power that the record labels have over their say of lyrics, still drops gems ? I would say Nas. He drops gems and he is mainstream (bet, mtv, radio) Maybe Common but rarely do you seem like that on tv wise. Cant think of too many.

I think Nas is very overrated right now. Niggas livin off of his past. Mainstream rap doesn't have to be about "dropping gems". It's about making you feel good and having fun. Sometimes people sound like all the knowledge they gain is from rap music, which is quite mind boggling.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

so i guess selling drugs and talking about killing other people [primarily Blacks] is feel good music. Obvious those people the record label doesn't have to worry about restricting what they got to say. "Hey, RICK ROSS good job , your the man, im just the man behind the man, explosive rhymes, the new thing on the block, as he sit back and lights his cigar and watches the beautiful city view from his office.(really means good job nigger, you makin me filthy rich and on top of that a bunch of little niggers want to be like you, i don't have to worry about any of them competing for my job)[ grabs his leash and says "hey boy want to go for a walk"]
