So I'm Looking To Cop A Game Console, Mainly To Play Blu Ray or HD DVDs...

It's been over 3 years since I last owned a console or even played it regularly (I copped a PS2 to play GTA San Andreas, played it for a month and put it all away).

So now, I'm looking to cop me a HD TV and wanna start picking up either Blu Ray or HD DVD's to go with it. I don't feel like spending 300 for an HD DVD Player, when X Box's and PS3's aren't that far off in price. At least I'll be able to have a double use for the thing (I plan on buying your basic NBA and Football games... and the new GTA... that's about it). I'm not into the online gaming. So... my question is this...

PS3 or X Box 360... Which one suits me better for my situation?

Any help is appreciated...

For ur needs,  go with a PS3. It plays Blu-Ray out the box, and with the 360, u will need to buy the HD-DVD add on. Also it appears that Blu-Ray has won the war for the future format of choice. And this is coming from an X-Box fan boy.

Yea i'd buy a PS3 simply because if your looking for a Player then Blu-Ray's basically won the war between itself and HD so i think you'd be better off buying a PS3, also the online gaming's free

ps3 is the best blu ray player you can get for the moment,less loading time

Like has been said, if you want to play movies, go with a PS3. 

Wal-Mart announced they would stop selling HD-DVD's. 

They joined Target, Best Buy, and others with only selling Blu-Ray.

It's only a matter of time until Paramount will also go with Bluray.  Their most successful filmmaker (Spielberg) wants his movies to be released in Bluray.  And if you want to rent Blurays, you can go to either Blockbuster or Netflix (both which are Bluray exclusive now).

buy the ps3 if you are not a gamer. There's basically 1 good exclusive game on the ps3 (uncharted) but the blue ray is clearly a +. Personnaly i'm really into gaming so i'm more a xbox type

It's about time I got a PS3. The fact that Blu-ray won the format war makes it even more tempting to get immediately.
