Khalil's cool.. not amazing, but good.

I gotta say though, I kinda want Detox to be mainly Dre and a close circle of producers rather than the vast amount he has on deck right now. I'm sure whatever he puts out will be hot, but I'd rather hear what he himself would do for his final album

well im 100% sure dre will at least co produce every track, and a lot of producers are just providing beats to inspire Dre.

reasons has some great resources for adding EFX to sounds.. thats exactly what hes doing taking a sample and manipulating the shit out of it to the point of it being unrecognizable (like oldschool true producers used to do beatnuts etc) OR just coming in with his own sounds and freaking them

of course you just cant get reason and say yo im the shit now cuz everything i do is fire.. its the person behind the gear not the gear

Wow, that Nas track is pretty impressive.  I really hope the rest of his new album is of the same vein....but if there's anything we should learn from preview tracks is that they usually don't represent the sound of the whole forthcoming album.  Example:  the Primo-produced "Nas Is Like" hit the net & airwaves before the "I Am" album was dropped, and I think it mislead the fans into thinking it was a return to the Illmatic sound.  Needless to say, none of the tracks on "I Am" were worthy of even scrubbing the feet of "Nas Is Like", let alone being on the same album.
