Dubcnn Radio Announces New Format - February 28, 2008 By : Eddie

For the past few months, many of our readers have grown to enjoy our very first radio show, "Coming Up With Young De". Each week, our hosts De and Eddie would go over the latest in De's life as he prepared for the release of his debut street album "Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1".

Now that we've shown you how De came up, we want you to hear from rest of the West Coast. Starting next week, you'll see a new Dubcnn Radio format!

Young De will return as the co-host of the program along with Eddie, but this time we're going to bring a different artist from the West on the show every week to take us into their world and show us how they're "Coming Up". We'll continue to play the hottest records out as well, but we'll put an extra emphasis on songs from the featured artist so that you can hear what they're all about!

Check back next week for the first episode of the newly re-vamped Dubcnn Radio with a special surprise guest!

I downloaded a show twice. One time because my question was asked and one time because I was interested in what Kurupt had to say. Both times I skipped the songs and went as quickly as possible to the talking.

One of the reasons why less and less people are listening to radio is because they prefer to listen to their own tracklists. Me, I downloaded the shows because I wanted to hear (some of) the talking. I'm probably not the only one who skipped the songs in these shows.

Let's hope you guys get a hold of some good artists who have an interesting story to tell that want to do this show cause I'm not quite interested in the same old "I was struggling in Watts and I been grinding, ya know what I mean?" bullcrap.

thanks for the feedback, we're definitely gonna try to keep it interesting.  would it be more interesting to the music if you hadn't really been listening to the dude we're featuring on there?  like for instance, let's say you've never really listened to glasses malone before, and then we play a lot of his songs, both new and old, on the show.  would that be more interesting to you?

All these 'new west' artists have the same story to tell, Glasses Malone included... so to answer your question: no.

Two years ago a new Iraqi rapper from San Diego called TIMZ released an album. He did everything independently and you could only find his cd on cdbaby.com, but his story and lyrics were a lot more interesting than what Glasses Malone is all about. I think Glasses Malone is the better rapper, but there is nothing new about him. I heard everything already.

Sounds like a good idea.
So far I have only checked one show, the one with Kurupt.
The thing that dissapointed me was that you played old music,
classicīs sure but it would be great if you played the "new" audio thatīs featured on the front page,
Crooked Iīs,Young Dre weekly freestyles and pick a couple of tracks from the "new" mix-tapes.
Make it more like a dubCNN radio news letter.

yeah that's a good point, we've tried to do that a couple of times and i definitely wanna integrate that more.

Big Props to Young De and Eddie!  ;D

I have enjoyed almost all of the shows so far.

(And Thanks for the Shout Out on the track De! My Wife was Trippin when she heard.)

Whatever you guys do in the Future, I will be Peepin Fo Sho.

Keep that West Side Up Eddie! 8)

Don't Waste Time Hating on Kurupt just because he gets the Appreciation that you think YOUR favorite artist deserves. You should try being more Positive about Life and Post about things that YOU LIKE instead of Whining Like a BITCH. Convert All That Hate into Positive Energy to Promote YOUR # 1 Artist. That was the original idea right? and the one I checked just happen to be a Kurupt feature?

I got no problem that you play music by a featured artist.
As far as going specific, every artist canīt have "good" story.....
itīs a weekly show right?
if so,why donīt you have a week with "new" audio and what not,
like a news letter show and next week you can have guest(s) and so on?
To answer the first question, the show was orginally created to introduce our readers to De, while at the same time bringing in some of the tightest music out on Dubcnn at the same time.  It turned out that we ended up getting a lot of people involved in the project, like Damizza, Kurupt, Skee, and B-Real, on the show as well!

We're gonna have a new guest on the show every week, but we're also gonna have some tight records playnig every week that aren't from that artist.

This is still a work in progress and people should recognise the hard work eddie has put into starting the show and evolving it, we value all your ideas and opinions!
