props for your work on this one, I respect that it's your opinion. But I didn't continue reading after the first 7 tracks because you have a completely different view on this album as I have. When just saw the ratings of track #2, #4, #6 and #7 I knew we would disagree. In my opinion track #4 e.g. is far from being a banger... Give that track a better snare and cut out that weird bridge in the beat, then we can talk. I can't write such a detailed review of this right now tho, I always need time for Snoop records. I needed 2 weeks for "Blue Carpet Treatment" so maybe you can see me rating next week But still, nice work of you, it's all good. We just have different opinions.
nice review but what you mean by Kurupt shoulda stayed quiet he shoulda dropped a verse and killed that beat

Now that's a real review, actually explaining why the track is good or why it's not. I pretty much agree with most of the ratings, what I definetly didn't like was that Rick Rock joint and on the other hand I really like "Those Gurlz" compared to you.I'm probably gonna drop my review soon too, if I'm not too lazy.
This is my opinion ofcourse... Anyway check it, pz01. Word Witchya! (Intro)Produced by Scoop DevilleThis track has a nice old school vibe to it, its just a intro, snoop talking, letting us know his a grown man now but his still love making music...in the words of snoop "i took my time on this one"...and he also just introduces us to his new team...quick dogg and teddy...lets see if the formula works...02. Press PlayProduced by DJ QuikAdditional vocals by KuruptAs soon as the beat drops, im thinking quick did this for snoop?!?! as soon as the beat drops it sounds like some shit jay-z would rap too, snoops vocals actually sounds hella sharp on this and his flow is real nice and focused, not amazing his just staying with the beat rather than being snoop and just taking over it. Goes real nice with the vibe of the beat which is kinda jazzy/eastcaost vibed but its bangin...as snoop as raps" its snoop dogg and its ego trippin" This is a nice uptempo celebration joint, nothing g'd up about this joint, and you got kurupt on this but that nigga should stay quiet,lol.....also the drum pattern is not great....4/503. SD Is OutProduced by Teddy RileyBackground vocals by Teddy Riley and Lady G.Additional vocals by Charlie WilsonA tropical style beat, a summer vibe to the joint and the hook is hella electronic but its the first teddy and snoop collabo on the album so u know, you gotta be excited about two legends coming together on a track...as snoop dogg raps "now stop, pause chill for a second/ its snoop dogg and teddy riley on a record". U can tell by the beat and the way its been mixed and the effects it contains that snoop has got a real production expert with him on this track. But this hold up as good a joint overall? Snoops flow is correct but theres something missing about this joint but its not very long and i think it has a nice vibe to it...Not great but its still a decent first account of snoop and teddy. 3.5/504. Gangsta Like MeProduced by Teddy RileyAdditional vocals by Jamie FoxxDang!! Now we're talking! The beat is off the chain, its like a mix between something gangsta and someshit that could be played at a house party...Snoops flow aint really on point to be honest but the hook is dope, it goes back and forth between snoop and some broad, dope hook and the beat is off the chain. And the lil ending is hella smooth, this joint is just good music. Againt the sound is hella crisp and sounds real clean. Banging shit. 4.5/505. Neva Have 2 WorryProduced by Snoop Dogg and Terrace MartinThis joint shows snoop just thinking about the past and how he has come along from the days of rapping on dogystyle to his move to the south and then to making the last meal. "The last time a nigga gon eat off me!" he raps. This joint is hella personal and just proves how much of a living legend snoop is, not just in terms of hiphop music but music in general and the life his lead, he a legend. The beat is real clean and some dark gansgta shit and the keys are hella nice. The hook is lyrically very nice but i just think it fits the beat. 4.75/506. Sexual EruptionProduced by Shawty ReddThe first time i heard this i was like...WHAT THE FUCK?!?!....and i never really felt it but then when i checked the video for it it grew on me alot...Snoops on weird muthafucker but this joint i dont really need to go say muhc about since i know everyone has heard. 3/507. Life of Tha Party (feat. Too $hort & Mistah F.A.B.)Produced by Scoop DevilleNice drum patern to the beat but this seemed hella formulaic for a party joint, the verses are wack until snoop comes into it. His verse aint nuttin great but his charisma and his vioce keeps his shit above the level of anyone else on the joint. Not for me and i got flavour and i love party shit but this aint really dope. 2.75/508. Waste of Time (feat. Raphael Saadiq)Produced by Raphael SaadiqCo-produced by Bobby OzunaThis joint is kinda soulful and aimed at the bitches, its still got a clean beat to it. "You don't love me, you just love my dogystyle"...lol, snoop raps real nice on this but the joint is not anything appealing...its more like a snoop feature than raphael but its nice when u wanna lean back and just listen some shit when you tired but its very different from the rest of the album so far. Its alot softer and different vibe to it. 3/509. CoolProduced by Teddy RileySnoop and Teddy went crazy on this deciding to redo this,lol... Real old school and the drum pattern reminds me of the michael jackson billijean days but this is 2007 and snoop and teddy doing a tribute but it sounds like its fun aswell. lol...umm...3.5/5???....i cannot really judge this, everyone will have all soughts of opinions about this joint!10. Sets UpProduced by The NeptunesNeptunes as usual come out with a crazy drum pattern, something they are famous for and the gifted producers come real nice with the beat on this. Snoops vioce does not sound as sharp as the rest of the hiphop joints on this but he rips this shit to bits, don't get it twisted. Everytime snoop raps with neptunes, he ALWAYS come correct. The hook has pharrel on it i think but the the joint is actually real nice and different from the album joints so far, real nice, Setttttttttttttts uppppppp! Banging beat and joint, 4/511. Deez Hollywood NightsProduced by NottzThis is about snoop showing how his a superstar and whats popping in hollywood when all the big cats get together and have parties and shit! "Those hollywood nights, they drive me crazy"...the hook repeats, its still a nice joint, nottz come with a nice beat, not an amazing beat or anything but its still nice. 3.5/512. Whateva U DoProduced by KhaoCo-produced by Mark ColemanThe beat is kinda futuristic/ timbo influenced at times and the joint starts real nice and snoop sounds fresh but his verses aint really special. Still kinda reminds me of snoop in his last meal days. Nice shit. 3.5/513. Staxxx In My JeansProduced by Rick RockDang!! we got a winner here! "Im on some nigger shit"..."im off the chain"....the beat rick rock comes up with is amazing and hella atmospheric and snoops rips it to bits, kinda on a southern flow but he rips it to bits. "you got some shit to tell, i got some shit to sell" lol...snoop rips this to bits...y'all need to check it..4.75/5DSo far im hella impressed and the quality of the music is hella clean and crisp, sounds like high quality shit. But this is usually when album quality usually drops so lets see what we got for the last strech of the album!14. Been Around The WorldProduced by Snoop Dogg and Terrace MartinThe second terrance and snoop joint, the first was hella impressive. This one aint touching that, this record is aimed at snoops wifey but the hook is nice and its just a dedication to his wife. Again a personal joint and about how his been around the world but no matter what, nuttin compares to her and since its a dedication joint snoop comes nice but its not something we as the audience will easily connect with. 3/5....15. Let It OutProduced by Teddy RileySnoop and teddy back at it. Again teddy comes with another beat all different from his other beats on this album but again bangin. Making beats for this nigga is nuttin, he aint a legend for nuttin. Its like snoop just flowing, he flows real fast but its easy to him on this joint. The hook is hella annoying though and that kinda ruins the joint for me. 3.5/516. My MedicineProduced by Whitey Ford (aka Everlast)lol...only snoop......as you can tell by the title of this song, its a dedication to his medicine.lol. Joint is funny, got a country vibe to it...as snoop says...its dedicated to johnny cash and the hook is hella funny...i kinda like this, i aint gon lie...also the white cats on this board who aint got no flavour and dismiss anything with some flavour will still like!..get my money, buy my medicine! 4/517. Ridin' In My ChevyProduced by Scoop DevilleHella southern joint but the beat is not terrible but its not anything near bangin, Snoop aint really coming good on this. His words aint actually bad but his snoop flow aint on this so i cannot feel this. The beat is nice on the hook but thats about it. 2.5/518. Those GurlzProduced by Teddy Riley & DJ QuikCo-Produced by Scoop DevilleTeddy, quik, and scoop all on the beat with snoop! How did this turn out? Not anything great but its a more a track for the bitches. Again snoop sounds hella fresh and the sound is real crisp and high quality again but not a joint for me. 3/519. One Chance (Make It Good)Produced by FrequencyThis is Snoop and frequency and the about snoop lettin young niggaz they better come good if they ever get a chance in whatever you do...its basically about making sure you come good and be real good if you gotta real woman because they always other cats ready to take her if you aint the right cat. The message is bigger though, whatever you doing, make sure you come good, whether it be a chance at a rap or whatever, just come good if u get a chance! This is like some shit snoop would do back in the day and talk to the young niggaz. Nice shit. 4/520. Why Did You Leave MeProduced by Polow Da Don & HitboyPolow da Don, a nigga in demand right now comes with the beat thats real chill and snoop comes real mature with the spit and the hook is real nice, "and yes, im still the kinf og the west" snoop raps. Joint is bangin. 4.75/521. Can't Say Goodbye (feat. Charlie Wilson)Produced by Teddy RileyThis joint is bangin, its real just chill and pretty much what it says, snoop on some pac style shit here, Its real nice, i think most people will like this. 4.75/5Overall.....Postives...The sound is hella rich and clean, i think the album shows snoops growth as an artist from just gangster rapper stamped. Also i think production wise everyone comes good mostly, its very nice and different to what anyone is putting out right now east or west and the snoop sounds focused. Also for an album thats so big, its pretty consistant, i was not really expecting the album to be this fresh.Negatives....Its hard to tell of some sure fire hits, theres alot of potential shit that could be released but nothing really concrete where you could say, yes that needs to be out there!Overall i think this is snoops best effort easily since last meal and shows snoop growth on making albums on his own without dre. It also cannot be classified as a westcoast or eastcoast records, its just great music and shows snoops star more than anything. Only a few niggaz can put out something like this, jigga, nas, snoop...big big names. Thats why they're still in the game, they know how to make shit, they ahead of anyone else in the game albums wise. I give this album a 4/5...hella refreshing, hella crisp and even though it aint as gangter as some people will want it its still bangin. I think you will however need a mature ear to listen this shit. If you on some constant dre/eminem dick all the tme and cannot understand other music influences without that sound and not into jazz shit and different shit coming form sounds from southern music, eastcoast music, neptunes stlye shit this will not be for you but i think for people who can judge this on what it is rather than what they want it to be, i think you will not be dissapointed. Overall Message....Impressed,lolpz
