Suga Free  -  I enjoy a lot of his songs not produced by Quik but of course the best of the best was done with them together.  
                        he's an entertaining rapper but him cutting ties with Quik is a serious downgrade, it's too much to go unnoticed


Hi-C   -    he's got some good old school stuff and he can produce quite well to a degree.
                but the last time I heard from him was the 2004 album and that was impressive
                from the sounds of it Quik helped all over the cd
                Hi-C not fuckin with Quik these days just leaves him boring and irrelevant


AMG   -    I like him and some of his work without Quik is good and as usual funny.
                 he's an original rapper who can flow, but you're right about him not being a draw without Quik
                 these days he's zero without him because on the Fixxers bootleg the ones AMG did were bad


2nd II None  -   they're alright and that's it, they simply rhyme and the beat carries them
                           they were lucky to get some of Quik's best productions in his prime
                           it was needed for sure because without Quik they're nothing
                           I would have no interest at all if they released a cd now with no name producers

I'd say I agree, certainly were 2nd II None is concerned. Neither of them is very entertaining or impressive in his own right. This is contrast to Hi-C, Suga Free and AMG, in my opinion. AMG and Hi-C are entertaining and even if you don't like Suga Free's odd rhymes, at least his style and technique should make him impressive. Playa Hamm is neither impressive or entertaining, IMO though I wouldn't say he's a bad rapper per se.

As for Quik being Death Row's number one producer instead of Dre: That would have been great with Snoop, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg and Jewell...but I have trouble imagining him being suitable to produce RBX or Rage. Also, I doubt Quik could have made all of them step up their game the way Dre could. There might be a reason why Dre is considered the true genius and Quik is not.

I can agree about everyone, exept Playa Hamm.You need to check that Penthouse Players Clique album, he rips Quik's amazing beats (I still say the work he did on that album is underrated, almost every beat was INSANE) to pieces on some MC tip

I can say it tho, everything I've heard from playa hamm from after that album wasn't half as good as the fire he spit on Paid The Cost

Quik only really produced all of 22o's first album and all of PPC's first..and suga free''s first and about half on both 220's and sugas free second correct?    I think the one or two tracks he had on AMG and Hi-C's albums really werent much contributions (except Soak me Baby, that really stood out)... and all those albums held their own.   I love quik production but AMG and Hi-C never relied on quik as much as half of you think...

Thank you for educating people who speak on shit that they know nothing about. Hi-C didnt rely on Quik to produce anything. Crawf actually helped with production on John doe,(shade sheist's joint) and let me know. AMG's biggest records were records that he produced on his own.

The funny thing is, in my opinion, the songs he did with the bigger name people aren't as good as some he did with these "wack" rappers.  The Dre song "Put It On Me" sucked, the songs he did with Snoop were OK, nothing great...but he produced some real bangers with Mausburg and Suga Free.  The song he did with Top Dogg ("We Don't Love Em") on Chronic 2000 was bangin too.  Seems like he tries harder with the 'wack' rappers to help them step their game up, which in turn, makes the songs better.  Life Goes On by Mausburg was one of the best songs Mausburg ever did, the beat was sick (I think Quik produced it).  If someone like Snoop or Dre rapped on the beat, I don't think it would have come out as good.
