Where should I start a blog?

I've decided the kind of writing and cultural commentary I do in my head, with my friends, and on the net all the time would naturally lend itself to the blog format so I have decided to start a blog to showcase my writings, musings, and thoughts in general on pop culture, culture and art(meaning film, tv, comic books, music etc.).


Is blogspot the de facto place to do this?

Where has the most visibility?

Where is free?

Which blog servers are user friendly?



What's the copyright situation with blogs? If I post a song I created or a piece I wrote...is my intellectual property in danger of being snagged off my blog?


I'd really like to know your thoughts. Thanks

will do. for now deciding between blogger and wordspace but thanks to someone PMing me about another site, I'm thinking about doing different blogs at different sites specializing in certain subjects in addition to my main personal blog.


ultimately I'd like to get a .com definitely but that's when I have a little extra money down the line and with my current legal and employment situation that's looking like a minute or two away. maybe early next year looks good for such prospects but a blogger or wordspace hosted blog seems like a definite possibility in the near future in addition to some other ones hosted by other sites.


i really appreciate the interest and will definitely get at yall.
