R U against Myspace/Facebook?
« on: August 23, 2008, 08:05:43 PM »
do u see it as corny? Facebook isn't as bad, but now it's almost becoming generic to have a Facebook once u have a Myspace.

I do know ppl who use it for keeping in touch with ppl, email, etc..., but some ppl take it way too far.

it's like a popularity contest and u got ppl going, "add me to ur top 10!" it's ridiculous.

what's ur take on it? what do u hate most about it?

myspace has been a GREAT way for me to contact artists and so on for this journalism stuff. It's fantastic and definitely slept on, business wise.

I agree. the artists definitely benefit from it promotion-wise as well.

oh yeah, at the very least, a great start-up tool for new artists and great promotion for the bigger artists to keep their fans posted. You'd be surprised at the interviews I did thanks to myspace; 2 big ones I can tell u are Killer Mike & Stat Quo.

I have both Myspace and Facebook.

Facebook is definitely handy to stay in contact with friends you already know, especially if you're a student.
Unfortunately it sucks to meet new people, the design is very bad, there's no HTML.

Myspace on the other side is awesome to meet new people, there are around 300 million users, full of artists, there's HTML customizing, etc...

I only fuck with MySpace to basically just keep in touch with people, I have Facebook but NEVER use it, have logged in maybe 2 or 3 times with it and the only reason I ever created an account there in the first place was to watch a video somebody uploaded

Facebook is much better if you are in college and involved on your campus. I have both, but Myspace is just too much of a damn circus. I get tired of having to wait 2-3 minutes for profiles to load up, and tired of everybody in the world trying to add me just to make their friends list bigger...it's just a competition.
