Just like the 2001 beats all sounded like modern Chronic beats, Hi-tek's beats on Game's three album all sound Dre beats of this era, new level shit
that's not true. dre has evolved. does the grow up beat sound like anything on the chronic????

no because it sounds shit,
no it don't.

The real truth is if Dre were still making beats for Game, you wouldn't be hating on his shit.

lol, the weekly "Dre is wack" thread from Long Beach Iz Active.. it's been a while.  :D

I'm not saying Dre is wack, the beat he laced for Slim Thug was real nice.  But it just seems like it's stuck in that 2001 leftover mode

That statement isn't totally false, to be honest, when we look at a track like the one he gave Slim Thug.  But it doesn't apply to everything he's put out since 2001 (Busta Get You Some; Bishop Grow Up; Jay-Z Trouble; Game Westside Story; Mobb Deep Outta Control RMX; to name a few)

I'd wait for when Detox comes out to really pass judgement on whether he's evolved or not. That's the real test.

Bottom line gentlemen...

1. Dre wont drop Detox cuz this is his last album and he's afraid to flop (musically and sales wise)

2. Dont know what to rap about. He feels like he's to old to rap about gangsta shit and nobody wanna hear that but at the same
time thats what he does best, his music sounds average other wise.

3. Is too focused on creating a new sound instead of just creating dope music.

4. He could've been like at least 5 albums deep since the 2001 album now if he dropped albums regularly instead of workin on 1 album for 9 years.

5. Like i said, he's afraid he's gonna flop so he's waiting on this era to die down because he can't connect with fans right now. Old niggaz got more important things to do than wait for Detox for 9 years, most of the old niggaz aint even thinkin about Detox. The youth is focused on swag, a hot beat, beef and blogs while the on the hand you got fake thugs that focuses on street cred and image. I mean fans will litteraly go out and wear Darth Vader costumes nowadays. Thats why Dre is big like that now. He's trying to connect with the fans cuz he's lost. This aint 1999 anymore this is like 2 generations after that so he's a lil confused.

Any way he is gonna end up losing:
he needs to rap some gangsta shit (that he doesn't like)
or
some grown up shit that these early-teens don't give a fuck about.

Hi-Tek is the shit, altough I was dissapointed by the L.A.X. beat, it was a lil boring and just a simple loop. Ole English is a different story, that production is amazing.

However I don't see the point of this thread, seing as Hi-Tek is one of the 5 main producers behind Detox.

LMAO @ just a simple loop

Okka

Dre had really great beats on "The Documentary" but lately the beats he's been puttin out are wack. Dre needs to work with Scott Storch and Mike Elizondo.
What's up with Mike?

Hi-Tek drops some great product.  He's been on his A-game lately.  I'm not really feeling Dre's latest beats but everyone has a point in their career where they drop a few duds.

Nah the real truth is Dre don't need to do shit. He's already made enough hits over the years. He can do whatever he feels like doin. . .

i really dont think dre really trips of dropping a beat that isnt all good.  he has made too many amazing ones for the wack ones latley to downgrade him as a producer today.  its hard to adapt to a different style when most of your career you have been laying just fuckin quailty shit.  hell find his stride, hes too talented no to.
