Man, a lot has changed in the pest 10-12 years, but although I don;t really check all of it, quality stuff stays comming outIn the past 2-3 months there have been solid releases from Termanology, Reks, Nas, Murs, People Under The Stairs, Heltah Skeltah, DJ Revolution, DJ K.O., Jake One, Large Professor...and throught the year one can find more examples. One just has to dig to find quality stuff, but I can agree with one thing:all of the above mentioned make great music, but not much shit has touched me when listening to it like 90's or 80's hip-hop.but that's just me
I wouldn't be surprised if some people here think that hip hop is at its peak right now (i.e. Big Sadot, Lunatic, C. Material, Al Bundy), but me... I think there's no telling. Music (hip hop) evolves 24/7. Mainstream rap has sunk very low, but if you look further than that there's still a lot of good stuff... In the (near) future there could be artists that step up the plate and blow us away. Who knows!
We will never have Hip Hop as great as it was from '88-'96. Never again. I put anything on that.
