I iant seen that shit on BET or TRL or anywhere, where are those records playing on the radio? How can u drop an album without Having your record play on the radio? How will new fans know that they are comming out?

Unless 500 000 people all log onto Dubcnn and know who Jay and Omar are, there is no chance they are ever gonna push any units,.

Its a Wrap for them both, i guess thats the reason Their record Labels aint Pushing Physical ALbums, coz they usually wait for Spins and Audience impressions, and shits are nowwhere.

Usually labels COunt Spins and Peoples Feedback, on the radio, MTV, BET and all and than release the albums, thats why Games Pain was so Successfull and They Pushed LAX and Dope Boys, if Pain was not playing, THey would Push him back, like they did With NELLY.

Look at Gunit, Their shit didnt get plaied and they flopped

You have to look at someone like Flo Rida...he sold millions of ringtones...but no album sales...

why? because kids will buy the ringtone because they aren;t hip on the create a ringtone thing "YET"

Omar Cruz's single, G Malones singles are hot..but to break a new artist these days with no  BUDGET is near impossible..this will be a trend for a while until we figure out a way to sell music again..

So So Def just aligned with " Tag Body Spray " to bring out an artist..

The music will probaly be free with a can of Special Editon $20 sprays...

The artist gets a small % of the spray sales...meaning that the album can be given away for free because it is something physical with demand...

That album will go Platinum on deoderant sales and everyone will get paid...

We need more deals like this..

Well it's definitely about politics that most peope wouldn't be aware of. Even when an artist is signed and has a single out, they have a LOT of things going against them. Truth is, just ass aamusic said...many new artists get radio/TV play, but don't sell anything. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Lil Mama and Estelle didn't sell anything first week...M.I.A.'s single is years old, and when that album dropped, it didn't sell much of anything, and now, it's too late for the album itself to get major sales. Soulja Boy had one of the five most played songs this decade, and it took him a while to go platinum.

It's lose-lose for many of our artists now. Unless you have a groundbreaking single, or something that comes out the gate and has major appeal, it's hard to catch ears and receive major play. On the flipside, even if you have that, it doesn't guarantee stability in the game and album sales...how many one hit, or even one "kinda-hit" wonders have we seen come and go? Is that what we really want West Coast rappers to be about?
