You know the only reason why people are even arguing this is because you don't see more artists from different western states out there (mainstream). Does not mean they don't exist or that because they don't have a coastline they ain't west.

Hell yeah its west. Isn't the IE in California, and we not that close to the coast. Philly and Boston are Eastcoast, ATL, Texas and Miami are the south, then AZ, Las Vegas, LA and the Bay are the westcoast, throw in Seattle too, 'cause Sir Mix A Lot did his thing and that's the West. I'm still on the fence with Denver, I have to hear something come out of there, but AZ is westcoast. Everyone I know from AZ use to bump that westcoast and now they are producing those rappers that sound west.

dang, last time i posted there was only a couple comments and now its on its 2nd page. well, i dont know why its such a big deal. put it like this, GEOGRAPHICALLY, its not west coast just West. But as far as music, lifestyle, culture, etc; its West Coast, if thats what the question meant.
honestly my first time(5 yrs ago) to Arizona, i didn't even know we were in Arizona until i woke up when we were stopping for gas in the outskirts of downtown Phoenix around midnight and let me tell you that part of Phoenix was fuckin gutter man. it look like the hoods in Cali. im talking bout dudes in their Regals and Cutlass drinking in the parking lot. it was kind of uneasy.
