Dare I say that season 2 was the best season of any show I've ever seen, and this is coming from a huge fan of the Wire and Sopranos.

I'm a big fan of Seinfeld, but it's not even close.

Comparing Seinfeld to Madmen is like comparing a pitcher to an outfielder. Who is better in their prime? Clemens or Griffey? How does one answer that?

The point I was making is that season two from beginning to end to a very bleak story and it was told to wonderfully. It was like a masterful picture of a group of people that when you study each person closely you begin to notice more and more about them and appreciate a level of art TV isn't used to producing.

I'm not going to bother with the because it's more serious it's better argument, because you could probably use my portrait quote to describe a season of Seinfeld and write an essay about it. Then I'd just write another one disagreeing. I prefer the serious to the comedy in the end and the best drama will be considered better than the best comedy in my mind and I'm sure there are people that take art just as or more serious than I do that think otherwise.
