New Paris album, Acid Reflex, Available Now!

Just in time for election year, Paris returns to the now-seemingly apolitical world of hip-hop to once again inject his patented form of sonic vitriol into the musical landscape with his latest critically-acclaimed release, Acid Reflex. With commentary on a wide range of topics including black-on-black crime and violence, the ongoing problem of police brutality, illegal and immoral wars, the crooked arena of politics and the need for more of an equal balance between positive and negative influences in entertainment, Acid Reflex is the latest installment of cutting-edge funk-and-rock-inspired hip-hop in a career spanning the sale of over 3.8 million units independently worldwide.

Acid Reflex also has a "Golden Ticket" Contest, with three randomly placed tickets - and three guaranteed winners - with each prize being a ten-thousand dollar award redeemable as a scholarship towards any kind of post-high school education or towards housing expenses.

To win, you must purchase an Acid Reflex CD at a physical retail location or online (contest does not apply to vinyl). Upon opening the CD, winners will receive notification stating "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE WON $10,000 FOR EITHER SCHOOL EXPENSES OR HOUSING!" Only winning CD packages will contain notification and details for the claiming of prizes. Non-winning CD packages will not contain notification of any kind.

There have been no winners to date.

Continuing in the tradition of artists who can be relied upon to remain consistent with both content and dedication to musical quality, this latest effort by Paris will please not only his existing loyal supporters, but should prove to gain him many new listeners as well.

Available in CD and 2-disc 180-gram vinyl formats.

New Conscious Daughters Album The Nutcracker Suite, Available 2.10.2009

Hip-hop is now larger than it's ever been - co-opted and used by everyone for every conceivable purpose - it can be argued that hip-hop is now synonymous with popular culture. In many instances it dictates popular culture, and time has proven that this can be both a good and a bad phenomenon, depending on the messages being sent. Sadly these messages are now almost always negative when it comes to women.

Enter the Conscious Daughters and their new album, The Nutcracker Suite. Hardcore street poet veterans with triple O.G. status in the game, they've proven themselves over time to be as cold as they come, fusing street knowledge with messages of empowerment from a distinctly female point of view that can only be described as refreshing in the middle of the testosterone-fest that hip-hop has become. All hail the Queens.

The Nutcracker Suite touches on it all - black-on-black crime, domestic violence, the trials of single motherhood, and the need for unity and sisterhood. It features production by Paris, Rick Rock, One Drop Scott and others, with guest appearances by Paris, Mystic, Marvaless, T-K.A.S.H. and more.

With female voices all but absent in today's hip-hop climate, the time has never been more right for strong women's voices to be heard. Guerrilla Funk will continue to keep pushin', releasing material of substance in the face of adversity, and hopefully rewarding those who seek more from their entertainment.

Available in CD and 2-disc 180-gram vinyl formats.

Paris Presents: Hard Truth Soldiers, Vol. 2, Available 1st Quarter 2009

Started as a response to the current apolitical climate in commercial music, the Hard Truth Soldiers compilation series is a rallying cry for social justice. Each volume is a collection of material that goes against the grain of commercial hip-pop by providing content of substance, touching on subjects ranging from war and police brutality to black on black crime and domestic violence.

With the recent reduction of civil liberties, increased instances of injustice and racism both domestically and abroad and a rise in self-censoring corporate media monopolies hell-bent on stifling dissent while at the same time flooding our communities with negative and escapist entertainment, it's ironic that this is the most prolific period of protest song-writing in history.

And the Hard Truth Soldiers don't miss a beat.

Featuring Paris' trademark massive sonic production, Volume 1 showcases contributions from Paris, T-K.A.S.H., Uno the Prophet, Jasiri X, The Conscious Daughters, Truth Universal and others.

Available in CD and 2-disc 180-gram vinyl formats.

Yeah, the features are there on the press release.  They just sent it out wrong (Vol 1 as Vol 2)

As far as the first documentaries, "Sounds Like A Revolution" is the first to drop but not until 3rd quarter '09.  Paris stated that info today on the radio.  More to follow after that.

I looked it up on wikipedia;

The album is a DualDisc, with a DVD side featuring a twenty minute documentary on the making of Confidential and the entire album in stereo sound.

He said he was talking all this conspiracy shit... quite funny he said. Have you seen it?

This Hard Truth soldiers compilations got me thinking...
wouldn't it better if it was some sort of "Chronic" instead?
Same artists, but put together like a "real" album.
Wouldn't that be dope?

On a side note, Paris has produced music for Toni Braxton.  I'm not sure what song(s) or album(s) though  ???

Thought that was rather interesting as he said it was his lowest point in his career  :P

stranger things has happent;  (if it's true that is)

On the subject of Dre and weird collaborations,
does anybody have the track that he and Colin Wolfe done for that Disney manufactured pop group called The Party?

It would be cool to hear that.

From what the reviewers on Amazon write, it seems they're American not British.
And a few people mention that Dre actually produced the song mentioned above
(plus some tracks were done by Teddy Riley)
You can listen to  snippets there.
Looks like it might be true.

The Party - Greatest Hits

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000000OL1/102-0355218-3160176?v=glance

Interesting, the snippet doesn't sound Dre'sh but there is no way to rule it out.

What it is I find weird is why the hell would Dre produce for some mickey mouse faggots.
The only conclusion that can really be reached is that he was needing the cash,
the track was released in 1992 presumably before the Chronic was released and
I think that the whole of Death Row were broke (many stayed broke even when the Chronic came out).

Check this out:
http://groups.google.pl/group/rec.arts.disney/browse_frm/thread/ba3bbb54abed009/efc59309c5f550c3?lnk=st&q=%22let's+get+right+down+to+it%22+dr.+dre&rnum=1&hl=pl#efc59309c5f550c3

This part is interesting:
Quite a few cuts on the album were written/produced by Teddy Riley, and "Let's Get Right Down To It"
was written and produced by Dr. Dre of Chronic/Snoop Dog/NWA fame.
Snoop is even mentioned in the "thank you's" section of the liner notes.

If it was up to me I'd give it all away

is this just talk, or is this actually being considered?

would be dope if Paris remixed some

Wouldn't mind hearing some remixes but I would prefer some new music first  ;)
