If the Mets were run like a competent franchise there would be no need top move to get out of the shadow.  There was a time when the Mets ran the city and the Yanks were in the shadow back between 1985-1990.  Of course the Mets couldn't handle that right and threw that success away with booze and coke.  Hell even in 2006 the Mets were starting to take the city back and they couldn't even do that right.

A National League team is needed in NY.  Even though the rest of the country American / National league means shit, having both still means a lot in NY.  That goes to show you how deep the Dodger / Giant influence went in NY.  Baseball in NY isn't a game, it's a religion.  I know old timers that stopped watching baseball and refused to follow the Yanks when the Dodgers and Giants moved.  And when the Mets came about in 62 they became Mets fan b/c the Yankee hatred.  NY needs a National League team no matter how big of a joke that team may be.

I was watching this very closely.  Tex was the one player I wanted us to sign.  I think he is going to be a great deal for us.  Hes a great hitter in his prime with gold glove D.  Massive upgrade from giambi and the kind of player you build a new core around.  Awesome signage. The futre is looking bring for the Yanks.  This years draft will be thin though lol.
