he has more shitty beats than dope beats.. really.. A whole gang of shit he chose sounds absolutely horrible..

nah he sucked at picking beats, at least in the beginning anyways. He had complete artistic control over 2Pacalypse Now and the beats on there sucked. He probably got better at picking beats later on.

its amazing to me that beats from shit quality unreleased songs is even relevant in this discussion. Your talking about songs that weren't necessarily done, and weren't intended to be heard by the public hense the fact that they were unreleased.

Do I think he had the best ear for picking beats? No I think he was more concerned with letting his message embody the track.

The best at picking beats would have to go to Game. Hands down. Not saying he's the best lyricist but he definitely has a good ear for picking beats.

at that time he definitely had some bangin' production. in 95- 96 i wouldn't say he was the best at pickin' beats he just picked what fitted him. everybody had bangin' beats when he was alive .

Its hard to go wrong production wise at Death Row in the nintees
i am very familiar with the production from death row at that time dogg food was just as good if not better than all eyez on me. death row shit was the west at their finest. it's just everybody's production varied and was also bangin.

the instrumentation on that album alone was sick. every song was classic. daz needs dre also. but they also had live musicians too. check the credits. i'm on my third dogg food cd.
