I still would have liked Rourke to win. And I certainly didn't want to hear Sean Penn tell half the state of California they should be ashamed of themselves for not believing in equal rights and voting against gay marriage. Fuck Penn for that. The main reason the ban was passed was because of the one sided vote in the black community. Is he trying to say blacks don't understand what it's like to be victims of not having equal rights. They know full well, and it was with great wisdom that they decided that marriage is not an equality issue.

Separation of Church and State Penn. You should be arguing that all marriage be unrecognized under government.

as far as his speech goes, i agree with him 100%. my grand kids are going to be ashamed of this nation for shooting that one down.

also today's black people (generation x and y) have it easy compared to the homosexual community. many black people act like they all went through what  kunta kinte did. i fully agree with the notion that they were the biggest hypocrits in this election. hooray for Penn.

Mickey was the sentimental favorite, but i think his career is going to make a nice little comeback.

mickey rourke definitey played his role well. very well. but i think sean penn WAS the role though. that's what the difference was here. but, i think that josh brolin may have been slighted a nomination for his role as W. If that movie would have been written better i think Brolin would have been in the hunt as well.

If the vote were just up to Generation X and Y it would have been passed. That being said even today's blacks in inner city California have it way worse than gays have ever had it in the US and here's the simple reason; they can't hide it. a gay white man could always lead a normal lifestyle and ave closeted gay sex when no one is looking, and they have done it for years. Blacks even today live in piss poor living conditions and deal with racism by police and the school system. Is it the worse thing in the the world? No. But it'sa heck heck of a lot worse than what California queers go through.

My grand kids will be ashamed that a secular country ever performed a religious ceremony. Hopefully they won't have to be ashamed that said country still performs them.
