If some people enjoyed Salvation a lot, then they will be completely blown the fuck away with Star Trek.

I wasn't blown away by it, but it was far from terrible. I was alwaysa biger fan of Star Trek than Star Wars, but this Trek prequel beats out all the Wars prequels (not that that's saying much).

The only reason I said blown away was just in comparison to Terminator, just to be clear haha

ooh well.... if Jar Jar's annoying, that russian fuck is ten times as annoying.

I actually liked Jar Jar in the grande scheme of things. The russian wasn't even an issue for me. I bareky noticed him. What I did notice was that Kirk was even more of a badass as a young man than he was an older man. As opposed to Star Wars the prequels which turned one of the greatest film villains of all time into a whiny bitch worried about losing his girlfriend. And for that I will never enjoy those three films.

the russian fuck annoyed the hell out of me. I have learned to live with the star wars prequels...

I've learned to dismiss them from history while watching the old ones. How you can compare a minor character with an accent to the complete destruction of a franchises coolest character is absurd. They may as well have shown us a young Hannah Solo before the sex change operation.

i'm a big trek fan but was ready to give this movie a chance from both a fan of the series point of view and standing on its own. i thought it was absolutely terrible from both of these perspectives.

of course, if you're easily impressed by a bunch of flashy action sequences then it might have been fun at the cinema. i just hate all these pretentious hollywood films trying to be slick and epic when they have gaping plot holes and are terribly structured/paced. either do an action movie properly or you may as well be watching some straight to dvd steven seagal.

I can see why Next-Gen fans may not have been the hugest fan of this film, but I don't see why fans of the original series would hate it. It's not the epic film it could have been but whatever. I didn't see any bad plot holes. I didn't like how alternate reality Spock understood the "that's cheating" remark and I thought the big hands thing was silly, but the old show was a bit campy in parts and the film tried to re-create that.

People are enjoying this movie a lot, and it's not just the "flashy action sequences" type of people.  Why is the movie getting good word of mouth? And why is Terminator Salvation not getting any? I would easily say it is directed better (action wise)  It's because people are enjoying the story, they're enjoying the characters, etc etc.
