how come no one talks about Ice-T?
« on: October 16, 2002, 06:47:03 PM »
alright, i see dozens of posts about dre, snoop, even eminem(who ain't even from the west) yet no one ever talks about Ice-T. this man is a pioneer of West Coast rap & his first 4 albums (Rhyme Pays, Power, Iceberg, OG) are all classics. he's still in the game; he's got his own tv show, does movies and guest appearances. i wouldn't be surprised if he drops a new album soon due to all the promotions he'll recieve from being on tv. anybody feel me on this?

Ice-T was my favorite rapper back in '91 when he dropped O.G. - Original Gangster which is an undeniable classic. All West Coast fans should definitely check it out. "Mind Over Matter" is one of the illest tracks ever. I think the main reason no one talks about him is because he hasn't dropped anything new for a long time that was worth mentioning and that a lot of these folk weren't listening to hip hop when Ice-T was on top.

good point, but one of the things that pissed me off was when people was listing the top 5 important in the west and not a single person mentioned him, plus i wasn't listening to hip-hop 10 years ago but you can still listen to it now

Yeah, Ice-T is a legend! He'll release two group projects in the near future:

a.) Sex, Money & Guns (with Smooth Da Hustler and Trigger Tha Gambler)
b.) Perverted Sex Kode (Ice-T described their sound as a mixture between Marilyn Manson and Type-O-Negative with a bit Nine Inch Nails)

just check out the Iceberg, Lethal Weapon, You Played Yourself, High Rollers, I'm Your Pusher, the entire O.G album.. he's fuckin' DOPE

so i tried to write rhymes somethin' like them /
my boys say, that ain't you ice /
that shit sounds like THEM /
so i sat back /
thought up a new track /
didn't fantasize... kicked the pure facts /
motherfuckers got scared, coz they was unprepared /
who would tell it how it really was ? who dared /
a motherfucker from the west coast L.A /
south central, fool..where the crips and the bloods play /
----
i tried to rhyme about the fun and the good times, but the pen yanks away and explodes and destroys the rhyme..

maybe just coz of where i'm from..

- L.A - [BANG]  .... that was a shotgun..

i could quote the man all day..

There's nothing new about ice-t in these days.....this is the reality.
This is the last news about him:

"Law And Order: Special Victims Unit star and rapper Ice-T is getting married to Coco, the voluptuous, blonde, 23-year-old swimsuit model he's been dating. The 44-year-old Ice-T told the New York Daily News that met Coco at a January video shooting, and that it was "lust at first sight, and then it was love." Ice-T also candidly shared intimate details of his relationship with his fiancee with the paper, saying, "Forget the so-called celebrity hot couples. We have better sex than all of them."

No word on when Ice-T will be getting married, but when he does he wants pimp-turned-preacher Arch Bishop Don Magic Juan to perform the ceremony. Ice-T said it was the preacher who told him to "put a ring on that playa." Coco, who will reportedly soon grace the pages of KING magazine, is now sporting a heart-shaped diamond ring and clothes that match Ice-T. Coco, whose real name is Nicole Austin, told the Daily News, "He picks out my clothes every day so we can always match. In fact, we do everything together. We never leave each other's side."

The Daily News also reported that 28-year-old Linda Marie Sanchez, a 28-year-old actress, is suing Ice-T for child support. Sanchez is reportedly claiming DNA tests prove Ice-T fathered her child, and she's seeking 17 percent of Ice T's adjusted gross income. The Daily News said that Ice-T denies being the father of the boy. The denial of paternity, as well as Ice-T's wedding plans may surprise people who've seen and heard Ice-T talk lovingly, in the past, about his children and long-time love Darlene Ortiz.

Ice-T was one of the first rappers to make a successful transition to acting with his big-screen appearance in New Jack City, which was followed by his appearances in several other successful films. Ice-T's newest projects include hosting Beyond Tough, a Learning Channel series premiering this fall about real people who face danger in their careers. Ice-T has also reportedly become the spokesperson for Posse Pops, ice cream bars that will feature wrapping with positive messages that discourage drug use, dropping out of school, and unsafe sex."

WOW PRETTY INTERESTING!  :o  :o  :o

Are Ice-T's other albums any good? I heard he fell off hard after "O.G. Original Gangster" but they say that about everyone these days (there aren't many artists who released three classic records in a row).

By the way: Nima is very open minded about music! I know him long enough to say that.
