From what I heard, before he got the position there, they didn't have anybody that knew anything about the Death Row catalog working there. They didn't even know shit about the released catalog. That's probably why those Lady of Rage songs ended up on the WideAwake website that were supposed to be from the vault and they were released and they didn't even know it. I also heard that they were going to put the Chronic 2000 version of Mr. Officer on Re-lit because they thought it was the unreleased one from the Chronic sessions.

It's my understanding that he has major input on track selection, which is a great thing because he knows the catalog better than almost everybody else and he worked for the company for a pretty long time before the bankruptcy. Say what you want about the whole FTP thing, but now he's doing the same thing and doing it legally. I'm pretty sure if he had the option to do FTP completely legal he would've gone that route, but that was impossible till now.

You guys can point fingers and shout bootlegger all day but when it comes down to it, you know you like the music they have brought us that we never would've had with these artists who for whatever reason keep their 10 year old tracks to themselves.

I'm not saying you gotta praise anybody. I just don't get why people make a big deal about him working for WideAwake. The bottom line is that with his knowledge and experience, he's the perfect fit for the job and that's all that should matter. I just don't think people should look at it as a negative thing that he is working for them. I think us more serious fans of Death Row will benefit from having him there so people shouldn't be making a big deal about it, that's all.
