This is one of those releases that will bring in consistent sales, unlike if an artist drops an album and they do super good the first month or so and then sales fall big time. If I were an average joe and a year from now I saw this on the shelf for the first time and I also saw Daz's So So Gangsta on the shelf it would be way more likely for me to pick up Re-Lit because it's a timeless release with added material while an album from 2-3 years ago has lost its appeal. I'm just using So So Gangsta as an example, not a diss to it.

I stated before that I think she and people on this forum had way too high of expectations.  Besides the internet rap sites, this album has ZERO promotion.  What do you expect.  And everybody on these internet sites already own a copy of the chronic.  and its a very bad recession.  I expected more than 3000, but still I knew it wouldn't do well.

I too would have thought more than 3k, but I also dont think this release will have huge success as time goes on. Sure, it is a classic rap album, but how many people give a shit about that? Obviously, not many. The flame from re-lit blew out . If it were a straight release with just unreleased material, I could see it doing better, which might be the case for the Snoop Dogg cd coming out soon.

if the bonus material had anything to do with the chronic we'd be talking different numbers.  this shit just seemed like such a random after thought.  maybe instead of just her web design she should have found people who knew the history and could have helped make a better product!  shit, little things like adding 187 after lil ghetto boy as it was originally sequenced, add the single versions on a bonus disc, etc.  even with the whole no dre vocals thing she could have put chronic-related music on there instead of random stuff from 5 years later.

if lara took out a $10 million loan to acquire this material (i'm being generous here too) then she needs a few hit records and not just sleepers that will net her $5,000 a month.  then again am7 already took most of her heat away by releasing albums of material before she even came onto the scene.  so where we are at is that she needs the snoop project to fly off the shelves but the mostly crappy tracklisting, horrible cover, and the fact that snoop is still rapping all shaopes up to hurt her success.

and she thought she'd buy death row and become rich overnight lol.  those cock riders on the internet make up like 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% of the global market.

what was the promotion like in the US? adds on tv or radio? or in magazines? or was it internet only?
hopefully the will advertise the snoop cd alot better.

if sales continue like this we could see some remix albums  :P But on the real. None of the new tracks had Dre vocals (which was a downer) and a lot of the artists hold no weight to most fans (come on, how many have heard of CPO?). I wasn't up for paying £17 for a couple videos and songs by artists who I don't check.

The Snoop Dogg lost sessions are another question though  ;)

its koch what do u think. there is NO promotion only on websites and blogs.

Daz is right they fucked up. how can u press only 35 000 units for snoop album and don't promote it?? allhiphop.com is not promotion

i guess international sales will be better when distribution deal will be settled

the fact that there was no worldwide distribution at the time of the release definitely didn't help
