Wideawake Ideas....
« on: September 20, 2009, 05:21:24 AM »
1) is it me or are they just rushing albums? we already have the chronic re-lit and already snoop is coming out? do you guys feel that maybe they should take their time with projects? because if they put out everythn as soon as then they wont make alot of money since theyv not been proprly advertised and not making alot of money?

2) I know they cant put out a dr.dre album but how about they put out an album that he produced traks for eg snoop, kurupt etc etc.again if advertised well then they should make alot of money since it is dr.dre

3) when talks clear up with amuru they should put out albums such as one nation and 7 day theory original album.2pac will make alot of money in my opninon, higher than any1 else providing that it is again well advertised.

what yall think?

I think they just need to do what they do and that we -the fans- should be happy they're releasing new music at all. Don't think too much about it and enjoy the music come when it comes. :)

Good thread Kurupt4life!  My personal opinion is that I don't believe they are rushing releases.  They're a relatively young company that most likely want to create a splash in the industry not to mention return on their investment.  In fact, the fact Suge did not release material consistently over the years gives now gives Wideawake to issue these releases on a consistent basis.  Having said that, they really should work on doing a better job at P-R as not sure they're gettting enough exposure the way they are going about things.

Lol at you with the brilliant ideas yet you cannot even comprehend what wideawake can and cannot do. There will be no one nation, simpleton.

They should promote these releases, would be good if WideAwake could get Snoop Dogg to promote "Lost Sessions".

The Snoop is the first volume of what poptentially can be many. WIDEawake first need to establish relationships with the labels biggest former artists, and 3rd partys. Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Rage & Afeni, and the only way to do that is to provide royalty payments, and keep to their word, and build on trust and respect. Once they 4 are on board, and trust this label, then they can influence their smaller counterparts. Kurupt, Daz, Sneed, Outlawz and so on, and eventually will have full support, which WIDEawake will benefit from in terms of promotion

They aren't rushing the releases. They've re-issued the Chronic with a few bonus cuts, and extras which really shouldn't be considered as a full release. The Snoop CD is the first genuine project of unreleased material

They should release the music how they've are doing it in my opinion.  We need to close the DeathRow chapter.  I mean I'm 20 and I still want fresh material from DR when I'm 40 but truth b told DeathRow getting back ontop is kinda like the Re-Birth of Elvis.  I want the NEW DeathRow Records (metaphorically speaking).  DR will never get old to me personally but how much has the world moved on?  Let WideAwake do wat they do, just as long they don't start watering down albums and putting out bullshit tracks.

They aren't rushing, but they are really not promoting everything. Face it though, they really are reaching out mainly to the hardcore fans. Chronic Re-lit was proof of this. Considering they are TRYING to get the artist to help promote the old material, its a step in the right direction. but yeah, I think only problem is they have no advertising for any of the albums. They didn't even try and put the videos on TV when The Chronic Re-lit came out. Also the way they put tracks on album totally fucks up. The 2 Jewell Track thing was a very bad move. It could of resulted in making The Chronic Re-lit more valuable.

2) I know they cant put out a dr.dre album but how about they put out an album that he produced traks for eg snoop, kurupt etc etc.again if advertised well then they should make alot of money since it is dr.dre

This would be a very good idea. I don't know if it seems right though, they are marketing a compilation just for the producer.

One Nation isn't applicable. Amaru has all masters, Once Death Row puts out its pure 2pac compilation that's pretty much it. The remaining ones will go to Amaru.

NO MORE BUYING CLEAN ALBUMS OR BUYING IT FROM 3 OR 4 DIFFERENT VENDORS JUST TO GET TRACKS.  that's gay it's 2009, nobody does that shit anymore (buy's 3 different albums for the 1 extra song).  Never again will I buy another Wal Mart album, no matter who it is.  I'm just gonna wait til it leaks next time

I know it's a big business but this shit is Art as well, You can't put a price on Art.

I'd like to see a "Dogg Food" T-shirt. I don't know how many of y'all own any of them Death Row T-shirts but it's usually Dre, Snoop, and Pac. Toward the end of Suge's days, he seemed like he was merchandising out a lot of the classic Death Row albums as T-shirts, glasses, calenders, etc.
