Why is prostitution illegal but pornography is not?

Thats already been established man lol. The point is, the government COULD make it legal and tax it.  Like Supreme said, its been well thought out. You gotta think theres people from the porn industry, that contribute to these politicians as well, who would NEVER want prostitution to be legal.  Legalized prostitution would be damaging to the porn industry.

I don't think so. There is a big difference between a man going to a video store to take a tape home, or a man surfing the web, and masturbating to it, and a man who goes out and buys girls to have sex with.


Another reason it is protected is under art based laws. A pornographic film is an artistic expression with actors and actresses. A hooker is more or less selling herself to the buyer, and opening the door to that could open the discussion of people selling themselves to other people for money.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but it is a different entity, slightly.
