brutal finish

It's karma.

LOL damn. But seriously why is Henry getting all this hate and Maradona got a free pass?

Probably because Henry comes across as a dick and Maradona (at the time) didn't.

Henry is a twat for that. I'm not even irish but fuck cheating. He should have owned up but I guess he isn't really the sportsman/honest guy he portrayed himself as at Arsenal. Maybe his stint in La Liga has ingrained this idea of cheating to win is acceptable. He should be banned from the WC but Platini is too busy counting his money.

It was handball but i thought it was more instinctive than anything, either way the officials should've ruled it out, they just didnt have the balls to do anything like the way they didnt book Anelka for that blatant dive. One thing which is getting on my nerves though is everyone saying ROI would've won if that goal hadnt happened, it was 1-1 and France were all over them, media needs to stop chatting bollocks

instinctive? man that bullshit.. he knew exactly what he was doing.. ball took two touchs of his hand, the 2nd touch with his hand clutched.. = Cheat.

+ time of the goal, they wasnt all over the irish.. it was still an open contest.. france were 2nd best that whole game, only decent chance they created was govou's chance in the last minute of ET and even then it was put over.

When you watch it in full speed not in slow motion where everything always looks way worse then it is, to me it looks instinctive and i bet 9/10 players would have done the same, and even if the goal had of been disallowed and it went to penalties it would have been a huge task for ROI to win a penalty shootout away in Paris, im not saying they wouldn't of won it but what i meant by my previous post is the way that all the media are making it seem like ROI would've automatically won if that goal hadn't happened which to me is complete bollocks

And all this talk of their being a replay means nothing, it was obvious Fifa always wanted France to win, they showed that by ranking the playoff matches

Nah he did that deliberately and it was the way he celebrated as though it was just that was sickening. The worst thing though is that it was Henry and I respected (as did a lot of people). This incident will tarnish his legacy and anything France do at the WC.

No Ireland wouldn't have automatically won the game if Henry hadn't handballed it but at least the game would have been played out fairly. The Irish dominated the game and whos to say the French team that were already stuttering under the pressure (and displayed the weakness in WC final at penalties) wouldn't have fluffed all their spot kicks under pressure.

I agree with what Trapattoni said in todays conference. He said that the game shouldn't have gone into extra time in the first place, basically saying that there shouldn't be extra time in a 2 legged match. Basically it should go straight to penalties. If you think about it, its right. If Ireland had of equalised, they would of gone through on away goals, but they get half an hour more away time than France did. Obviously that would be the same for any match in any competition with 2 legs. I think they should go straight to penalties after the 180 minutes are up. I'm not saying this because I feel for Ireland, I'm saying this because I think Trapattoni is correct.

Because Diego called it his greatest goal ever, on account of it beating a cheater by cheating. You gotta love that.

whatever way you look at it the goal should've been chalked off, the linesman on the far side had a clear view of the handball

hard luck to ireland imo, but it looks like whats done is done, as FIFA have announced there is no way the match will be replayed  8)

You can take the player out of Arsenal but you cant take Arsenal out of the player..................... "Same old Arsenal, always cheating"

Only messing, i expected better from Henry other players would have done the same but the way he celebrated showed he really didnt care that he had cheated.

I know he has said he thinks the game should be replayed, but he knows that isnt possible and is just trying to salvage what little is left of his reputation.

Totally agree, not sure why its done that way.

Classic Roy Keane. His reaction to this is great. Lol at him telling the guy to turn his phone off.

Keane is a twat, he's just trying to take away the pressure on himself and distract the media away from the fact that he's doing shit with Ipswich by talking about Ireland. If he paid as much attention to and focused his own team they wouldn't be in their predicament.

telling Ireland to get over it? wtf .. this pikey still hasn't got over what happened in 2002 and is still going on about. Pot, kettle and black are the words that spring to mind.
