forgetting about the subject matter of the songs etc this is musically and production wise on another level to anything we've heard this year. by a long way. quik remains a genius at work.

im pretty much only talking about the production. the SH album wasn't great in terms of the beats at all.

and re-releases/relits don't count. just new music :P

is there an instrumental?
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder
Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

i wouldn't say the vocals really get in the way too much. it mostly fits with the fun kind of vibe. only instrumental is for hey playa.

Yeah Kurupt didn't really have it lyrically but the production was great, banging from beginning to end

I dig Blaqkout, but more for the mixing and mastering. There was really no beats for me that just had me awestruck but as a whole it was a very cohesively produced album.

Agreed! This album is musically the best record I've heard in years...
DJ Quik tried a new direction wit Fixxers and it wasnt all that but this time he makes something incredible!

i agree but i think this album could've been damn near classic if they took their time with it. it was rushed and you can tell....i remember kurupt saying it didn't take them long to make it.....imagine if they did.

still, "blaqkout", "tha appeal" & "cream n ya panties" were excellent. too bad the whole album didn't sound like those 3 songs.
