If you're going to release an LP extended from an EP, then that LP should have remixes or alternatives mixes of EP tracks (should any get from the EP even get re-used) or if an EP track is going to have a video for the LP then it's cool to add it.

Crooked I has done almost every type of marketing possible:

Controversial label
Videos
Features on multi-platinum mainstream Murder Inc
Mixtapes
Beefs
Platinum producer beats (from Storch when he was huge)
Free Weekly freestyle downloads every week for an entire year
Low budget screen movies
Interviews
Magazine entries
Photo Shoots
Group album

I mean, he's pretty much covered every base possible, and if he's going to fk up his solo career taken off by putting out a portioned CD release, which will have a bunch of tracks people already have, then he's just got himself to blame, considering he's been more than generous by firing out weekly freestyle rap sessions, and mixtapes, what's a couple of extra new songs?

So is this release hitting store shelves?

That has not been announced yet, this is just confirmation of something that was talked about a couple weeks ago.

I'm sure we'll get more information in the coming weeks.

He's holding off for now. He's going to be dropping Weapon Waist LP in digital format in all major MP3 downloadable sites such as I-Tunes and Amazon, then in 2010 he'll be dropping a "decade mixtape" next year containing ten hot unheard tracks, from 2000-2010, then another Slaughterhouse project in mid-2010, a few more mixtapes, then his solo will drop in 2012. Can't wait!

Damn.  He's managed to push his album all the way back to the official "end of the world."  When Crooked pushes something back, he goes all out.

2012 means that the release is spiritual, that it truly defines his entity as 'Untouchable'. His CD solo will drop and cause the entire world to survive because of it. A tremendously epic release, and from there on out, we will have no problems in solo releases there on after

If he doesn't drop a solo album by 2012 he may as well see it as the end of 'his' world

I'm going to say it's his debut solo.  After all, it's original production, it's a full-length album, and it's not a free download.  So unless he drops something else before then that meets those criteria, I'm going to say that it's his debut solo.  I know there are some who probably won't see it that way, particularly if it ends up only being a pay download.  But I think it meets enough of the criteria for an album to be considered one.  After all, it's definitely not a mixtape, and it's not an e.p. this time.  The thing is, with Crooked, you never know if or when this project will be released.  So even though I would consider it his debut solo, it still needs to come out first before it can be counted as anything.

I would guess mixtape.

His EP hasn't secured enough to put out "videos" to a a media outlet which would reach a reasonably sized audience, so I doubt there's a big budget waiting for him for the LP of the same nature as his EP.
He'll drop this as an MP3 downloadable album only, and then excuse it's lack of predicted sales down to a "it was promotion for a slaughterhouse 2" project cover, where the responsibility of that failure is then down to 3 other men if that doesn't reach expected sales numbers.

Crooked I just needs to put out albums to retain a frustrated fan base. He's starting to remind me of the likes of a Suge Knight or a Dr Dre - scared to put out anything which wont go platinum or at least gold, but Crooked I doesn't exactly have a decorative legacy of platinum success of Dr Dre or Suge Knight so there's no excuse

But I think a lot of projects meet that critertia but aren't neccearily considered official albums. I mean, Bishop Lamont has dropped a gang of mixtapes with all new material written over original production. So have Saigon, Spider Loc, and many others. I would especially say no if it's just a digital release.
