Obviously a snitch is someone who calls the police when their house has been robbed so insurance can cover the losses and then the police end up catching stupid criminals because of that phone call.

You have no idea behind snitching. How is Kobe, the son of an NBA player, grew up in Italy, went to a private high school, how is he suppose to handle this in a street manner.
