Dogghouse/Doggystyle Records..... Their Music...
« on: November 22, 2002, 11:52:19 PM »
Alright yall... I gotta holla at you guys about some shit that had me thinking... today, I was going through my music because I needed something to listen to and I came across a CD that I hadn't listened to in a while... what was it?

Snoop Dogg presents Tha Eastsidaz....

Damn, do you guys remember when this album came out? Anyway, I listened to it all the way through... from track 1 to track 22.... and damn.... classic...

anyway, what's up with Doggystyle's music? Remember when they first came out? They were pushing Eastside and Crip.... you had Suga Free, Bad Azz, Kam, Xzibit, Butch Cassidy,CPO, Tha Locs and more.... besides Xzibit, whats up with these other artists? Especially Butch man... he was repping some hard singing... now he's like gone... and I loved Suga Free... we haven't heard shit from either of them for a while.... all of sudden, we got more E-whie and Latoiya williams that we can handle....remember "dogghouse in your mouth" when suga busted out that "bitch riding on my dick saying weeeeeeeeeeee" .... remember that?  Where is that now? What's up with Suga? It's almost like Butch and Suga both just vanished... gone, no more... done, goodbye....... plus their music is changing.... no more eastside, it's all about FUNKY UNKY UNKY... not that it's bad, but damn.... what's up with it? You have to at least maintain some sort of consistency...and Bad Azz !?!?! He was signed to Doggystyle... and after reading that interview... he's no longer on the label... it's almost like Doggystyle is completely owned by MCA... no more priority or TVT connections.... is Bad Azz stuck on priority now? Are the eastsidaz stuck on TVT now? seems like it must be... but im just concerned with everything that I loved from doggystyle... that whole crew shit... eastside long beach.... and now its all about... "wheres the mothership baby... we gonna drop some of that honey on your asss" ... what do you guys think.... drop your vocals

I like pretty much everything that's come out of dogghouse so far.  I think Snoop has the attitude he'll give people a chance, then if they don't blow up he's gonna move on, or whatever (I think that's why he left the eastsidaz, he felt he had done enough and it was time for them to stand on their own).  as for Suga free, of course he's real as hell, but that's DJ Quik's homie, he ain't really Snoop's protege or nothin, Suga Free's been around a while, Snoop just had him feature on some stuff.  Bad Azz I guess had his shot and Snoop dropped him, or maybe he got a deal somewhere.  Haven't heard anytning, but his album didn't sell very good, and priority poured a lot of money into it.

I hear ya man, but they drastically changed... now its all about Kokane, E-White, Soopafly, and Latoiya Williams.... when it used to be....Eastsidaz, Bad Azz, Kokane, Butch Cassidy, and Suga Free .... it's like the whole script was flipped and turned out to be what it is now... I would love to see all these cats on one album.... the first eastsidaz album was full of guests, from Tha Locs, Kam, Xzibit,  Jayo Felony and Sylke-fine... now i know things change, but it's only been two years and all of sudden... its down to four doggystyle all stars... and remember all that talk about Tray Dee's solo album and Goldie Locs album... it's all label shit we are saying... the industry fucks with the artists....

The thing is That Snoop Had too much peeps on his label and He wanted everybody to shine and Back then DoggHouse Records was kinda underground back then the only reason the first cd went platinum was because of the Snoop Dogg presents shit also all the artist wer straight westcoast and nobody outside Snoops fans knew bout them. And back then he didnt care about sale and shit. Now he realize that his Label have to be successful and get  Bigger than Murder Inc and all the other labels.Thats why u see LaToiya Williams its because she's young & talented and will bring heat for the label. and I think the line up is good now

Snoop Dogg
Lady Of Rage
Daz
LaToiya Williams
Charlie Wilson
Delano
213
Mr.kane
E White
Soopafly
RBX

Honestly im down with the Roster because it got sum old and sum new Talent a female Vocalist , a female rapper, a neo funk rapper, a male singer, good lyricist (RBX) so now Snoop got a Good roster to be successful back then he didnt have the chance because all they were talkin about was crips gangbang. now there is more flava

Suga Free has most definetly NOT vanished... He's finishing his new album, and lately he's been featured on many underground L.A. and Bay Area releases, i.e. on albums from Rappin 4-tay, Mac Dre, Willie Hen, E-40 and 40Glocc's new one...

i c what ure saying snoop has basically changed the whole roster and who he is working with. I really enjoyed tha eastsidaz albums and bad azz. Bad Azz is way underated, i dont get the same feeling when i listen to e white, im not saying he is bad but Bad azz could rhyme.

Yeah, I agree BpG.
He should push Bad Azz, Eastsidaz, Soopafly & Butch Cassidy.

I dunno why he got LaToyia Williams, maybe he wanted his "Truth Hurts"..
It should be about hiphop & gangsta-shit, instead of mixing soul, r'n'b, & some watered out pimp-rhymes.

Sack Snoopy Collins, sack Latoyia and holla at her for hooks, and push Bad, Eastsidaz, Soopa & Butch Cassidy. Then he can give RBX & E-White a verse now and then and even some Kokane-hooks sometimes.
