the booth should have reviewed it as a precaution but i don't think anything should have been overturned

Yeah but thats the same thing.A penalty isnt reviewable.They cant reverse a call based on a penalty they missed.If someone got a touchdown they cant review the play and be like hey there was holding on that play we can reverse it.the rules are pretty clear on that.
A pass backwards isnt the same as a holding or a facemask or a pass interference.....
