So Xzibit is on that MillionDollar Homemakeup Show Now?
« on: January 10, 2010, 07:37:21 PM »
You all know the story with Xzibit.  First 3 albums solidified him as a Westcoast legend and heavywieght in hiphop.  He was kind of like the rappers rapper, a great lyricist, had alot of credibility in the game and it finally translated into mainstream success once Dre got behind him for the platinum Restless LP.

Well now the same guy that made "Papparazzi" is cheezin it up on the Million Dollar Home Makeup Show.  Can't say I really blame him.  After his carear peeked in 2000 and 2001 he really has never had the same determination on the mic.  Also, with digital pirating and and the decline of the West Coast, Xzibit, who was once compared to Ice Cube as a rapper, is now having similar success transitioning to television and movies.

With XFiles, Pimp My Ride, and now this show HomeMakeover Xzibit has reached a level in the mainstream you never could of imagined when he was featured as an up and coming rapper in a Summer 96' issue of the Source.

I can imagine the conversation that went on between his manager in securing his spot on the show...

"Look if you hire Xzibit you will reach out to a whole nother demographic, this is a platinum rapper who can bring great energy to your show, as he did in his records and on PimpMyRide."

"yes... but we dont want his image as a hardcore rapper to offend our older viewers"

"Dont worry, we assure you Xzibit has successfully made the transition where he is no longer just some hardcore rapper but he is mainstream and white-friendly much like Snoop Doggy Dogg!"

There's no money in the music business anymore. It's 2010. Doing shows will still pay you if have established a name back in the day. Not selling a few indy cd's with all the internet bootlegging. Just like Tyrese... Xzibit is a smart man. TV/Movies will get you paid more than the average rapper.

Can't blame him. I was once ready to crown him King of the West, especially after Weapons of Mass Destruction, but now his solidly number 4 all time in most west coast ratings.

Number 4 sounds about right.

I think everybody can agree objectively speaking that...

#1. 2pac
#2. Snoop

...then after that it's probably a fight between Ice Cube, Xzibit, Dr. Dre, Eazy E, Kurupt and Daz.  I think objectively speaking you'd have to put Ice Cube at #3 because he's a pioneer.  Then after that why not X to tha Z!

Shortly after Restless, mainly because he was a streets rapper who has a westcoast classic that was hard like Ice Cube as opposed to smooth like Snoop Dogg.

Damn your fucking stupid.  If you read my original post I said I don't blame him for doing it, because with digital pirating and the decline of his skills after the Restless LP, him and Ice Cube are the smart ones who have made a successful transition into film/television.

I love Xzibit.  He's one of my top 5 favorite rappers of all time.  I still listen to his old stuff all the time.  This wasn't a hate post.  It was a post expressing my interest in the development and changes he's endured over his career.

But it's worthless to explain anything to an expressionless dunce like yourself.

LOL.. now you want to be pedantic?  Making a big deal out of a typo, and forgetting the overall truth of you being a complete dipshit, is like telling someone their shoe is untied when their about to be ran over by a bus.

Pretty much, however in this instance it's more like me pointing out your shoelaces after the bus has hit you and you're lying there awkwardly.
