why not cuz the next man will take your money instead

its a man's game...

there is too much money is sports anyways...
the reason college games are so much better then professional is cus those fuckers actually play for the love of the game while NBA/NFL are getting paid regardless of how good of a job they do

Give me a fucking break, they are all playing their asses off for a chance to be in the Pros.

thats what i meant moron... i mean college players are actually playing for something

Yeah but you can't really say they play for the love of the game if they're just playing to get a pro contract.

I know that man lol. I was only stating that it's foolish to say that college players play for the love of the game when a lot of them are playing for a pro contract

dude its foolish to assume every college football player is playing for a contract....

if your going to a top rank school then of course you playing for a contract but i got homies that play at local universities not to go to the NFL but just cus they love playing football and thats all they do

my homie is the quaterback for kingsville A&M and hes doing it cus he wants to be a football coach and teach youngsters

just look at LeBron; one of the first statements he made when he came into the league was, "i want to be the richest athlete of all time".

so how much heart & "love for the game" do you think he was playing with in high school when going into his senior year he was projected to be one of the top picks of the draft the next season? lol.

i would say it's about a 50/50 split; half the people who play sports truly have a deep love for the sport & the other half plays it because of the money.

half of high school players force themself into a sport they are good at for a college scholarship, half of college players (in top ranked schools) play because they get to go to the pros & half of the pros only play because they get millions upon millions.

it's the sad reality of sports, people who could give two shits less get to play on the grand stage.

Yeah, that's why I said a lot of them are playing for pro contracts. There's obviously the lesser talents that only play in college because they love the game, and I think that's great, but you said college basketball is better than the NBA cause they play for the love of the game. I see where you're coming from but it's obvious that most people watch college sports to see the exciting athletes and not the walk ons who don't expect to go pro.

that's the down side to some college teams; you got guys who are a shoe-in's for the NBA & guys who are lucky to have even made the college squad; how does a John Wall figure look at one of the lesser players on Kentucky?

guys saying, "ugh, i wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for this stupid rule of one year in college".

other than that hurting some chemistry, the college game is more fun to watch then the NBA; i think it's because even though there are powerhouses, any top team can beat any other top team on any given night & as the years go by, the power changes hands; where the NBA is more of a "predictable" game; you know the "Final Four" of the NBA every year.

like this year, in the East it's either going to be Cavs, Celtics or Magic & the West will be Lakers & basically, no one else compares lol.

What happened last time with contracts back in the mid/late 90s (I think) when they played that shorter season of about 50 games (again. I was young then so I can't remember fully)? Did the players get their way then?
