Paid Tha Cost is Snoop's "Nastradamus"...
« on: December 02, 2002, 06:31:58 PM »
I think the verdict is pretty much in for this album...Most Snoop fans hate it just like most Nas fans hated Nastradamus...Funny thing is I like both albums but I am in the minority...Well we know what Nas released after Nastradamus, the very dope Stillmatic...I think what Snoop needs to do is that now that he seems to have his flow back on this album is to hook up with Dre or at least get some leftover Dre beats like he gives to other artists like Eve and make a westcoast classic...

Magazines and other message boards are giving this album plenty of praise.  Amazon.com reviewers are giving it praise.  So to call this his "nastradamus" album is absurd.  Also, TGITBSNTBT will be his "nastradamus" album..Paid the Cost is hot and there are plenty of folks that agree--believe that.   Dont look at this board as your only input for others views..cos this is not a good forum for trustworthy reviews.

I like this album alot but it seems that the hardcore Snoop fans are the one's who think it's trash and the ones who like it seem to be east coast heads...I think Snoop tried to make an album with alot of eastcoast influence to try to cater to the East Coast because the West ain't selling shit, but in doing that alienated his core audience who always supported him...

I dont give a fuck if you like it or not.  The bottom line is this message board is such a small sample of the hiphop community--and if you look outside this board..whether it be other boards, magazines, amazon.com, real people, etc...you will see that the album is not nearly as HATED on as you think.  I personally love the album but I wont call it a great album..all I can say is that I like the album.

I really think this forum shitty on snoops album very bad.  I was expecting it to really suck, but when I bought it and listened to it for the first time it sounded pretty good too me.  I don't really listen to hardly any eastcoast rap at all, but I still like the album, snoop has a really good flow.  Man if this was all westcoast beats this album would be so hot.  Anyway I think I like it better than last meal.  I only listened to batman and robin once so far, and I was really hyped for that song, but after my first and only listen I didn't like it.

my favorite tracks:
da boss would like to see u- I don't care if it is just an intro it is hella dope
stoplight
ballin- hella peeps on here hate on this song, but I think it is tite.
the one and only
from long beach to brick city
I miss that bitch
suited and buited- dope ass beat
pimp slapp'd

lol i am sorry but this album has less bangers than Last Meal and Top Dogg

there is not a single track that REALLY stands out like bitch please or lay low

i think pimp slap is my favorite track and thats not saying much :(

and no i am not snoop hater, in fact i luv snoop and his music but i, IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, find this album disappointing

I know what Yall wanted.... a STRAIGHT WESTCOAST album this album aint westcoast at all but anyway give it a chance I remember back then everybody Wanted Snoop to get back with his ol flow and shit now that he's back with the same flow y'all hatin on the beats ??? ???  I think that this album show another part of Snoop a more mature U have to be more open minded when it comes to music. I know most of y'all are hatin because he doesnt talk bout Weed or Crips but he aint gangsta no more and doesnt smoke weed so why should he talk but that . I Think the main reason that y'all hatin its because y'all only listen to WestCoast music and to Have sum EastCoast Guest or production on a Snoop album is not what y'all expected but like I said before its 2002 G Funk iz Dead only tru fans think its still alive its on their mind .To be on Top  u gotta change ur sound and u gotta have sum radio friendly shit and u gotta hook up with everybody.

Anyway keep hatin if y'all want to but one thing for sure is that y,all dont know nuthin about the music industry and how it works .

Lay Low blew up the last album but it already sold 400,000 the first week...Top Dogg was falling down the charts before Bitch Please took off...What's gonna blow up this album since there is no Dre..."Beautiful", I don't think so...
