Although the Quik album was a highlight of summer 2009, it was more for Quik's contributions than Kurupt's, and for the most part these releases were disappointing in that they were filler-heavy and showed no progression from a lyrical or musical standpoint, lacking the clever wordplay of earlier efforts and even the gangsta sheen of latter day DPG releases.
Terrace is a good ass producer. He just needs better artists on his beats. Kurupt is legendary but no where near on that KingPin level he used to be on. Good rappers make average/poor beats into somethin serious, and Kurupt didn't do that (not to say that is was wack bcuz 'Rup had that flame on a few tracks). But as far as Terrace is concerned. Overall he's better than alotta tha newer producers to come out, especially in tha West. Most California producers ONLY have that same String/Piano melody in their beats, Terrace tries to do it up a little different, which makes him better off the jump. I think if T had some "harder" sounds and added some more ghetto harmony to his sound then I could see him growing on more people outside of just "westcoast heads". Also, he should try getting outta Cali and fuckin' wit some MidWest and Eastcoast niggaz, and definitely some niggaz from the south, it would enhance his sound overall too.
