Bottom line, the westcoast is dead because of the way the so called legends act.Instead of working with all these new west artists and creating good music, snoop and cube would rather release more boring played out shit.Meanwhile with each album their sales get less and less because people are getting tired of the same old crap from them.People would rather see snoop collab with someone new then here him do a song with daz and kurupt for the millionth time.Or hear him do a song with fucking soulja boy.

honestly, besides Game's & Snoop's singles; what other West Coast singles/songs could you possibly imagine blowing up mainstream?

i mean, don't name me "I Rep The West", because that just isn't going to blow lol.

just off the top of my head, it seemed Bishop Lamont's "City Lights" is one of those songs that had the most potential to be a mainstream success; not major, but a success.

it had a West Coast feel with a radio friendly hook.

New Boyz are from the West, correct? they keep up with the times & they sell; coincidence? nope.

Name me all these artists hes helped find deals for. These people snoop and cube have given themselves crowns of kings and leaders, but yet do nothing.Anybody can put out an album by a fucking weedcarrier.Weed carriers get their weed carriers albums.Snoop and cube have been responsible for black balling more artists from the west then they have been in helping them.Soopafly has been snoops right hand his whole career, look what thats gotten him.If you want to say your a leader and king, act like it.Not blackball anyone you view as a threat.

lol, how can Cube blackball anyone from the industry when he can't even get any spins himself?

Snoop put out the Dubb Union album on his label, he's helping out Damani right now. He did that song with Crooked a while back. Nipsey Hussle, Problem and Kokane were featured on his last album. West Coast rappers were all over the BCT. It's not his fault it didn't do much for their careers. Lil Wayne can do the same thing and it will make a rapper's career because the south is what's hot.

A good example with the New Boyz. Funny no one mentions them when they complain about the west. Gangsta rap isn't going to sell, period. It's not what's hot. I know, I know, wouldn't it be nice if Crooked I, Bishop Lamont and all these new west artists were what's hot. But the fact is that Cube and Snoop can have these rappers all over their projects (Snoop does) and its not going to do shit for them. Why do you think Dre has dropped every artist he has signed since Game? He's not going to put out a project that won't be successful. jaydc is living a pipe dream.

it's a sad thought, but Game could VERY well be the last successful selling, actual rapper from the West.

& like Jay just said, he might have only gotten there because of 50 Cent; without Aftermath i can't see him being much bigger than Nipsey is right now.

not to mention, if he was never with Aftermath, he would have never been with Dre, meaning he couldn't really use "Dre" in his lyrics, which takes away about 50% of his lyrical content. :P

which built his buzz substantially to the point Dre and Jimmy felt safe putting out his album. Point is, they didn't put out his album until everyone was already talking about him. They got people to talk about him by signing him and putting him in videos with 50. Snoop does the same thing, except the buzz isn't happening. Releasing an album that isn't expected to sell well is just stupid. Dre certainly isn't going to do it. Yet you blame Snoop, who has spent more time doing things for the west coast than Dre. Dre's impact may be felt more, but Snoop certainly tries more.

Jay Z calls himself the king of New York, does he not? Doesn't TI call himself the king of the south? I'm fairly sure most rappers consider themselves the best in their region. Rap is an ego-driven genre.

Jay z also hellped build and was co owner of rocafella and now has another label, not to mention he was the president of def jam.TI has grand hustle which is one of the hottest labels in the game right.Theyve made several careers.Thats a horrible comparison.
