some say he was more of a bust then ryan leaf their stats seem pretty identical

ESPN has rated him as a bigger bust. mainly due to his draft position, the amount of money he earned, etc.  Its a toss up between him and Leaf. ESPN radio was mentioning Jamarcus might take it, due to his attitude. Leaf had a BAD attitude, and very immature. But Russell has an "I couldnt care less" type of attitude and no QB taken #1 has ever been cut sooner then him.

And I dont hate the Bills or anything Shallow. But yes, I hope u guys get him too lol. Have fun with THAT. You guys wont regret it like we did...because he wont be your starter and you would only be paying him the league minimum. You guys naturally wont expect shit out of him. So if he turns into anything better then the WORST QB in the league....then he would have exceded your expectations.

I wouldn't want him for anything other than league minimum and a shot to compete for the starting job. Nothing else.

As for worst draft bust; Jamarcus for the Raiders should be ranked number 1, maybe all time. But even though it should have no effect what he does from here on out will matter in the eyes of the public. Leaf will always be remembered as the guy that was almost taken ahead of Peyton Manning, he sucked, and he retired. If Russel even gets on any team and has 1 winning season as a starter he'll be remembered better than Leaf.

thats a big time "if" buddy lol

Ok, but I'm just saying, the book is closed on Leaf. He's retired and done. Russel still has a chance to be remembered better than Leaf. And even then Leaf is such a running gag I don't think anyone will top him on the lists ever, because the more Peyton accomplishes the more Leaf will be remembered. Russel, if he never plays another down, might very well be completely forgotten.

I get what youre saying.  I think for most people tho, the book is pretty much closed on Jamarcus as well....at least as a bonified starter in this league. He will more then likely be picked up by SOMEbody out there as a backup. But if he manages to turn himself into a starting QB anywhere in this league, it will be the biggest turnaround ever for a player in the NFL. Not the kind of odds Id wanna bet on.

I'm not disagreeing. You only get so many chances to start as QB in this league and the stars have to align for a second chance. What I'm saying is there is a chance as slim as it is. With Leaf that chance is gone completely. Look at Doug Flutie; he stunk it up early in his career, went to Canada, and came back to start for two consecutive playoff playoff seasons in a row. Now I'm in n way comparing anything about Russel to Flutie but if I told you in 1990 when Flutie was cut from the NFL and went to Canada that he'd be back in 8 years and lead the Bills to their only two playoff appearances since Jim Kelly retired you'd laugh in my face. As long as Russel is still an active athlete with the desire to play in the NFL he's got a shot at moving ahead of Leaf.

If Tiger woods can be called the athlete of the decade then Russel can too. Shit it takes more athleticism to eat those burgers than it does to put a golf ball. And just because Russel has shown a greater desire for those same burgers than he has for Football doesn't mean he still doesn't want to play the game. Leaf has made it clear he's done trying.

I dunno man. Tiger is in pretty good shape. I bet even he could complete a pass to a wide open RB in the flat

If God told Tiger Woods he has 100 chances to the make the play Russel makes at 40 seconds in and just making it once will erase the scandal from the minds of the world, Tiger wouldn't come close one time. I love Golf, and I know Tiger's the best of his era at it hands down, but the worst QB of all time is twice the athlete of the best Golfer of the era.

I'm not hyping it up asa great play by QB standards, but Tiger couldn't do it once, ever.

Russel still has a better chance at a Green Jacket than Tiger does of a TD pass.

Have you ever taken a snap under center against an NFL defense?

Either way the arguement is pointless and silly. Both golf and being a quarterback are hard games to play.

A lot of QBs play Golf in the off season or in retirement. I've never heard of any Golfer playing full tackle 11 on 11 Football in his off time.

The difference is,russel is a number one overall and they wasted 39 million on him.I dont have leafs number off the top of my head but it was less then half of what russell got.

At the time I'm pretty sure Leaf's rookie contract broke the record,  plus he was picked right after Manning, and the team that traded up to grab him gave up a couple first round picks and a couple starters.  It wasnt all his fault tho.. he had injury problems.  Russell is just a fat lazy piece of shit who has been able to scam Oakland outta millions of dollars

wouldve been crazy if the colts got leaf and the raiders got manning

You mean Chargers. No way was Peyton gonna fall to the 4th pick that year.
Well Leaf woulda done what Elway did in 1983 cause he didn't wanna play for the Geldings, & they didn't wanna go through another Elway situation.  And Zona shouldn't have tried to win at the end of the 97 or 2003 season.  Cause if they just tanked the rest of the season, they coulda got either manning.  Wonder how Zona woulda done with Peyton?  And an asterisk that's not much talked about, Vikings got screwed in 2003 >:(  Its college, not NFL where 1 foot in the endzone is needed.

I wouldn't let Russel start. I'd give him the chance to earn a starting spot though.
