rappers just did it better bacc in the day,
kurupt "crenshaw and slauson"

snoop "from the depths of the sea"

mac 10 "and try the guess the color of my shoelaces"

it was more creative and equals who bang'd or whatever would know right off the top especially about the kurupt line yell

every 1 of those lines were low key and at the most suggestive, they werent all out in your face crippin or bloodin.  i see the point of threadstarter but u gotta understand, this is their reality.  they rap what they know and thats how they got the fanbase they have now, not so much for jay rock because personally i think his time in the rap game is up but nipsey is our realistic hope for the future of blowin up the west again.

You really think Jay Rock gettin money? It all depends on what you think getting money is. All I can say is that he is signed to an indie label which does not belong to him he is just an artist on it. He is not seeing what u think he might be seeing. I wish him the best and hope he is gettin dough but dont let these rappers fool u. Them niggaz is still in the hood or living right around the corner from it. U think that joint with lil wayne he did was just becuase weezy likes him? Hell no his label had to chip weezy off. Jay Rock is probably  still having to pay for that. I feel u the nigga go hard in the paint but the in ya face I'm a blood shit eliminates alot of things you can do from a music perspective and also from a marketing and sponsorship perspective. Trust me niggaz think twice about booking these cats for the simple of fact of what they represent but more less how they represent it and the potential danger of rival gangs fuckin up the venue. I say again Snoop, Eazy, Mc Eiht, Quik, you knew where they was from but they did it so creatively in the music and had been grinding for so long in the game that niggas had to respect it. It's like these younger cats is throwin it in ya face and saying look at me I will be from RSC till I die or Im from Huntaz. Nigga go plat first or even gold then u may have some lead way to that shit. Them niggaz is limiting themselves from going to hood star to superstar. Its all good though I am just saying this from being an owner of an inide label myself. I dont want to have to worry about shows getting shot up or my artist potentially being murdered, but to each his own. I wish them nothing but success.

What major is Jay Rock signed to? Please show me some proof that he is on a major and if he is on a major he is probably hurting even worse especially if he has a 360 deal. But fa real what major?

Jay Rock has been signed to Warner Brothers for years homie. He had a major deal since I heard of him. I been listening to him since 06 so he has had a deal with them at least since then.

This is what West Coast niggaz be talking about. It's okay for everyone to do it but us! And Nipsey has stepped his game up. Bullets 1 & 2 were raw, str8 from from the turf. Bullets 3 demonstrated his evolution as an artist. But then again, it's okay for Lil Wayne, Birdman, Jim Jones, Gucci and folks to be flagged up but if West Coast niggaz do it, run the opposite direction. Oh and as far as promoters not wanting to book people like Nipsey, he's done shows in Conservation ass Orange County so booking isn't an issue if the demand is there.

This nigga said orange county!! LMAO!! Nigga stop it. Noone says its cool for them down south niggaz to do it. I hate the fact they do it. i find it insulting. Make good music its like my nigga said the other cats did it more creative than these new niggaz is doing now.

Do not laugh at the orange county music scene. I see you have a link to a record label at the bottom of your post. Then you should really know better as someone in music if it is yours. These white kids out here really get down with the music and yes, there are Black folks out here too. These white kids do buy tickets and support artist. 40 water, Too Short as well as a few others do shows out here all the time and I'm not just talking at major venues.

As as far as Southern niggaz, even though you and most of use here out West find it insulting, you know you must admit that the industry has complained and played the west because of the flaggin' but have nothing to say when these other cats do it. Matter of fact, the industry promotes them. And on the same ticket, the industry complains about us and says that "oh, that's all west coast rappers can do, they don't have any real talent" but then they turn around and the only West Coast acts they sign and promote are gangsta rappers.

you missing the point, and even rap that claimed sets heavy "banging on wax" that was done out here before and it had an impact, but you still see the equals who did it more creatively blew up more, now i ain't like all that shit wayne and them do at all,but it's fresh to them especially in n.o. because it ain't really been done that big out there before, plus that muthafucca do a gang of pop songs as singles and slide a reference into them shits, is it lame hell yea. yell

Nah folk, who cares if it's new out there, it's still already been done. And it still doesn't change the fact that the industry co-signs dudes like Wayne and Jones but then turn around and talk shit on West Coast rappers. A hypocrite is still a hypocrite no matter how much they reason it. And i think you missed the part about Nip evolving as an artist. His first two mixtapes were raw and the third showed his evolution as an artist and song writer with less references to the 60's. And you act like Jay Rock hasn't done the same. I'll admit, Rocks buzz has already begun to fizzle out but he hasn't been a one trick gangbanging pony.
