What about Ice-T?
« on: June 11, 2010, 02:56:16 AM »
Whenever folks talk about the West Coast OG's and legends they mention Cube, Eazy, Ren, Dre, Pac, E-40, Warren G, Quik but people tend to forgot about Ice-T and that dude really used to murder the mic back in the day

Just becoz he rapped in early 90's does that make him a legend? ???

On this board, anybody who rapped in that time is a legend.

legeds are the ones whos legacy lives on, Cube, Jay,Even Pac still dropping albums  :o

This nigga had like 1 album or so with 1 song Cop Killa and ironically went to play a cop..He is a lil ass 5'2 nigga...These days? he would Get jacked for his chain like in 20 states, niggaz today are not like bAck in 90's when NWA  were and shit...Today is 200 times harder...

And the fact that he is with Coco and says she got a naturall ass, even thou is a fake. All that Pimp talk and hard talk, dissing Solja boy..

Why da fuk u dissing a 17 year old making Party songs? What do you want him to rhyme about? gunz and Drugs?

If i was Solja boy, i wuld pay goons to bust his house, rape Coco, beat the fuck outta them both and record it all on liveleak.com

Its sad how people in here call anybody a legend who rapped back in 90's/..They Might be Iconic or Original or part of Iconic group? But Legends?

Legends have countless numbers of albums and did alot not just miscally but movement like and influence outside music. Just Becoz Mc Ren or Ice T spit their 16's about how gangsta they were and all...That aint shit.

Cube is a legend...He made a whole Coast Look Raw. and Still Trynna Do It.He is relevant enough with money, fame and movies and known for his racial, controversial but great points on AMerican System.Thats Legendary.People fear What he had to say, people feared What Tupac had to say, and listened.

If everybody is a legend(Cbo,Yukmouth,E40, Spice 1, Messy Marv,Mc Ren etc) Than who is not a legend?

I swear Rap and specially this board have more legends than any genere of music...Everybody is a legend...God Dammit.

Look at Rock music...There are enourmous ammounts of Talent there...And records they sold are not some Ice T 500 000. And still, people would argue over Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel over who is a legend...Eventhou both are from the legendary group, People would say Phil is and Peter is not as much.

but in rap ya all sound like Game...I swear to God, that boy certifies everybody as a legend.

"I never thought i would be around these niggaz, 50, Banks,Buck. These niggaz are legends"-Game in Documentary DVD

 :D  :-*

You niggaz need to ease of that gay groupie talk. There is a difference between somebody actually being still mentioned and a legend to somebody being mentioned in some bias board by some fans and making ot look like they are legends.

STFU, get off whatever horse you rode in on and sit down. One, no one in here called him a legend though it really is a matter of perspective sometimes. And if you wanna point out the first sentence in my post, I said OG's AND legends. 2ndly, as far as his albums generally were well received prior to and after O.G. Original Gangster which helped to define the genre.

3rd, he helped influence rappers in the gangsta rap genre that you could be a G and still be political. 4th point, he apologized to Soulja Boy so that was ended and besides, Soulja Boy is a wack piece of modern hip-hop trash produced by an industry that has a strangle hold on the game. It's an OG's job to call out they young bucks and challenge them to do better, I don't care if he's 17 or 27, tough love cause these dudes now a days ain't handling it right. Soulja Boy ain't no G to be sending folks to nobodies house and if that's what you would then you'd be a bitch ass rapper who hadn't learned shit from all the rappers who have died over stupid shit and would be smoked before you reached 30 or end up with Lil Boosie and C-Murder when keeping real goes wrong

5th, yeah so he played a cop...it's called growing the fuck up! He even said it himself that even after cop killer, he later found out that he even had cops as fans.

Finally, you say Legends...people fear what they have to say, well who the fuck is fearing what Jay-Z has to say, Dre or E-40? And a lot of Ice-T's political views expressed in his music back in the day are still relevant today.

I feel you. I didn't mean that they were actually keeping it real, I was just watching the chappelle show and that skit happened to be playing lol. Boosie and Murder were just ignorant. You can take the man out the hood but you can't take the hood out the man. Boosie had too much going on to be putting hits on folks and Murder, I was just like damn when I saw that tape of him bustin'

shut the fuck up with your ignorant closeminded bullshit . ice t is the inventor of west coast gangsta rap & his first 4 albums were classics . he open the door for rappers to act in movies . ice t is west coast & hip hop legend . that is fact . ice t is one of main reasons we had the west coast. also ice t had more then 1 album or so with 1 song Cop Killa . ice t had many hits like 6 in morning, pusher, colors, new jack city ,O.G. & many more . ice t & mc ren are the forfathers of west coast rap & that makes them legends . what you are saying is like saying the kool herc , grandmaster flash, melly mell ,& kurtis blow are not legends. . sorry but you don't have a clue what you are talking about at all  . you don't understand hip hop or its history at all . why are most rappers from the 80's & early 90's called legends because most of them are the forefathers of hip hop & rap .
