Mel-Man is Melvin Bradford, he has nothing to do with this Breedan, except that he calls himself Mel-Man (as well as Birdman) too.

what i heard was what we call aftermath signiture sound, or Dr. Dre's 2001 signiture sound is actually Mel-Man's signiture sound.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. Just because he was in the pictorial does not mean he endorsed it. I can't imagine Mel having much of an ax to grind with Dre being that he got his credit on 2001.

well mel-man rarely speaks, so it's likely that he let them speak for him.
i don't know the whole situation, but there was an issue, otherwise Mel-Man would still be sharing credits with Dre

But no one can say for certain. I remember hearing something along the lines of he agreed to do the pictorial because he thought it was about promoting the new business venture they were starting but when he realized The Source was trying to do another "Dre Steals Beats" expose, he chose not to take part. I mean, who can really say why they don't produce together anymore. There's so many damn rumors, it's hard to tell.

This was my understanding when the article first surfaced.  I remember when mike elizondo used to post on here, he mentioned something about mel man having "personal" issues.   so i'm assuming it was the money.  But, he got the credit he deserved for everything.

And just going to that 2001 sound being mostly mel man's, i would have to agree that he had a lot of influence on the drums and that grimey sound.  But you can go as far as saying scott storch was a big part of the melodies.  And Mike elizondo headed the guitar/rock sounding beats after that time(also that experimental phase he went through from 2003-05).  but the common demoninator between all those guys is dre.  two out of the three helpers had producer of the year nominations after their time with dre.

he's always worked with musicians.
you state that it's a bad thing, but you can also look at it differently and give Dre props for not having a big ego & recognising other talent.
besides, it's not like he sits around while others do everything for him.
