R.I.P. Lakers/Celtics feud for at least 15 years
« on: June 23, 2010, 10:45:27 PM »
With Boston going into rebuilding mode soon, they will not make the finals for another 10 years. The Lakers will ride out Kobe and Gasol for a while, and then will have to rebuild so once Boston comesback LA will be 5-10 years away to being a title contender again. And this is estimates that are at best, since we could see a slide like Boston had from the late 80's to the mid 2000's, or LA can hit a slide for more than just one year. So since the rivalry is more than likely going to bed for now, lets relive the memories.

I'm all for them wearing throwback jerseys to honor the rivalry, but whoever threw in the throwback shorts was not on their game. Honestly, I like the green Boston jersey with the black letters and I was kind of sad that jersey did not make the finals, especially because the Lakers wear their more modern uniform.

1 and 5 are on lock for Boston in the long run. Rondo and Perkins will be a problem for other teams, and Nate Robinson and Glen Davis will be contributors, but Boston needs some serious star power to compete for the title. I don't see LeBron going to Boston. We'll see.
