^the real reason kobe is upset is because he will be swept by lebron for the rest of his career if he gets to the finals.

can't blame him.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

That's very debatable man. For one, everyone knows LA will be Kobe's team till he retires. Second, Kobe has shown that (at least at this point in his career) that he's all about rings. But LeBron's on the heat so this conversation really serves no purpose lol

Any team Lebron would have gone to it would have caused some negative feedback.

If you understand the game of Basketball, Kobe was without a doubt Robin on the three peat Lakers. Shaq was the "most dominant" player in the game according to most, and EVERY Laker fan back then. There is no way you can have the "most dominant" player in the game as your bigman, and have him NOT be the focal point of your team. Shaq was the one drawing double and triple teams...not Kobe. Thats not the way an offense works. The ball goes to Shaq, he either scores quickly...or allows the double team to come, opening up the floor for outside shooters...or Kobe slashing to the hoop. Kobe was the benificiary of Shaq. Of course having Kobe, helped Shaq too. But the only people who really seem to question Kobe being the #2 on those teams, are current Laker fans who changed their tune about Shaq the minute he wasnt a Laker lol.

If you read the comics you'll know that Robin becomes Nightwing and recently takes over as Batman as BRuce Wayne is lost somewhere. But Batman never gets to be as big and as strong as Superman.

My point is Robin is closer to Batman than Batman is to Superman.

I gotcha. So Kobe can finally be Batman under those conditions. But he WAS a sidekick...and Batman wasnt a sidekick. Maybe Shaq = Lone Ranger, Kobe = Tonto?

I think I like the Shaq=Batman, and Kobe=Robin/Nightwing metaphor.

Although during the three peat years, Shaq did dominate over the game, Kobe was truly coming into his own. We forget Kobe was 21-23 during those years, those are the years most players develop. In 1999-2000, Shaq was the team, if you really want you can say Kobe's first ring was not truly his doing, Shaq was by far in his prime. It was Shaq's best year in every way possible, and Kobe was along for the ride. Kobe only had 22.5ppg, but showed some signs.

In 2000-2001 Kobe finally was coming into his own, Shaq was still dominate and the Lakers were at the best during the 3 peat era. They went a legendary 15-1 during the playoffs, and it was the perfect storm. Shaq, not as good as 2000, was still the most dominate player in the game, and Kobe, not as great as he'll be, was the best wing player in the game at that time. During the season, Shaq had 28.7ppg, Kobe had 28.5ppg, and in the playoffs, Shaq, had 30.7ppg and Kobe had 29.4ppg. Kobe also had 5.0apg during the season, and 6.1apg during the playoffs, showing that he was becoming the team player needed to be with Shaq.

In 2001-2002, both their production dropped, as Robert Horry, Rick Fox and Derek Fisher actually picked up a lot of slack. Shaq was starting to show signs of getting out of shape, and Kobe was showing more late game take overs. Friction began, as Kobe began to complain out loud about Shaq's shape, and since it was Shaq's team, players began to shun Kobe.

2002-2003, the dynasty is over, the 3 peat ends, and the guard changes in LA. At 24 years old, Kobe takes over the team and team chemistry goes crazy. Kobe has a then career year, 30.0ppg, 6.9rpg, and 5.9apg. Shaq improves on the year before with 27.5ppg, and 11.1rpg, and in the playoffs Kobe takes charge, 32.1ppg, 40% 3 point shootting, and Shaq plays Robin with 27ppg, and 14.8rpg.

Of course we don't need to remember the 2003-2004 "Super" Lakers, that eventually lost to a team with true chemistry, and of course the break up and rebuilding of the Lakers. But Kobe during the 3 peat years was not the Scottie Pippen of the duo by any stretch of the imagination. Kobe was the balance Shaq needed to win, and Shaq was the dominate force in the middle that Kobe needed to win. In Chicago MJ would have years scoring 30 points or more during their dynasty years. Pippen's season's high was 22.0ppg, and that was the year MJ left. So you have an average of 10 points difference between MJ and Pippen. Shaq and Kobe was more like 1 most seasons.

Well I know you'll find a way to discredit Kobe, oh well. His still got 6 more rings to go before I'm truly happy, and that's when a Laker finally catches Bill Russell. Forget Jordan, all I want is a Lakers to get 12 rings and then we can over take that spot.

yeah yeah... except you'd never hear this from Kobe

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/eGDBR2L5kzI&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;fs=1" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/eGDBR2L5kzI&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;fs=1</a>

AI with Shaq=titles, yeah yeah, Kobe with Kwame Brown and Smush Parker equals 8th seeds and 1st round exits. I mean, it is what it is. Teams win titles, not players, but star players carry the teams.

This is for the LeBron fans who are excited now and can't wait to see the Heat "win it all" over the Lakers...  :tosser: You guys will actually like this. I may hate the Lebron move, but I think the videos are funny. Fitting because the Bash at the Beach in 1996 was in Florida, and Hulk Hogan lives in Miami now, so this is truly fitting.
