It's gonna be a real cold winter if Cotto beats Pacquiao but some stroke of luck. LOL.

While Manny Pacquiao recently issued a "November" challenge to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, feels it's way too late to stage the welterweight mega-fight in November. Pacquiao penned an article where he called for Mayweather to sign a contract to fight him in November. Arum doesn't see a chance of that happening, even if Mayweather were to sign an agreement in the near future. A fight on the level of Mayweather-Pacquiao needs at least six months to properly promote, says Arum. Arum also denied the rumors which claim Mayweather signed a promotional agreement with Don King. Mayweather and King have been spending a lot of time together in the last two weeks. King is trying to establish a working relationship with Mayweather. At this point, Arum would rather deal with King than Golden Boy Promotions, who worked with Mayweather on his last four fights. Arum believes a Mayweather deal can reached very quickly if King is negotiating for Floyd."It's too late for the fall. So Pacquiao-Mayweather would be something in the spring. Floyd has not signed officially with King, but when he does, I'm sure that Don will talk to me and we'll work it out," said Arum. "My recommendation is that we do the fight in May, in which case, if Pacquiao is successful in November, that will give us six months to promote the fight."Top Rank is moving forward with Pacquiao-Margarito in full force. Arum plans to meet with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Wednesday to discuss the likely possibilty of staging Pacquiao-Margarito on November 13 at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The vacant WBC 154-pound title would be on the line. Interested parties in Abu Dhabi made a strong pitch to stage the fight, but Arum says the deal won't happen."I'm going to the Dallas Cowboys' Stadium on Wednesday with the intention of making a deal, and I'm very optimistic," said Arum. "Jerry Jones, I consider a friend. I think that we're going to make a deal. Jerry Jones knows that North Texas has a huge Hispanic population, and, particularly, a large Mexican American population. "So Margarito will be a tremendous draw, and, as you know, Pacquiao was already a tremendous draw. So if the fight happens in The Dallas Cowboys' Stadium, the attendance will exceed the previous fight with Joshua Clottey, who really had no following in North Texas."
In a recent article published by PhilBoxing.com, Pacquiao reaffirmed that Margarito looks likely like his next fight, but he is still hoping for it to be against "Money" Mayweather. Quoted on the Filipino website, Pacquiao stated: "For now, Antonio Margarito of Mexico is the likely replacement of Mayweather in November 13, but for me, there is nothing more beautiful (than) news if the Mayweather camp will change its mind." Pacquiao went on to basically diss Mayweather as a "coward", and that if he wasn't a coward, he'd face him in the ring. Pacquiao stated: "A lot of things can happen within three months and if Mayweather is not really a coward, he needs to prove himself in the ring." Pacquiao added that if Mayweather wants to claim he is the best fighter on the planet, the only way to prove it is to go through him.
So is it really still possible to Floyd to man up and take the fight, so they will cancel the Margarito fight? I know they would want more promo time than the Nov date that was (or is) gonna be Pacquiao and Margarito.. But it's still possible to cancel that fight?

But Floyd isnt gonna fight him regardless. And even if he grew the balls...he wouldnt fight him in November.

Probably April we're looking at..But I thought the Margarito fight was already signed? They would have to pay Margarito to walk away from that fight or what?

Margarito would suffer some sort of freak injury in training...and Floyd would take his place. Im sure they would want more time to promote which is why Arum had that deadline. So he could promote whoever Manny faught in Floyds place. But to be real...how much promoting does Manny vs Floyd really need? lol

But I guess they would want 6 months of promoting from the day they officially announce it still. I could see Early March or Late Feb actually. April is way too far away. But of course Mayweather won't man up and we will have to wait until after Nov when the Margarito fight is finished to think about an official announcement... UGH. Floyd is 33, he gotta realize Manny is a good 2 years younger, and if he wants to have a chance to beat Manny and retire having beaten the dude everyone said could smash him, he gotta fight sooner or later. With all that's gone on in the press and boxing news, and with the small pool of fighters left for Floyd to tackle, I just don't see him fighting anyone else but Manny from here on in.And he ain't dumb enough to retire right now, Manny is such a huge paycheck. And I still believe Floyd wants to prove something to himself and to boxing world by beating him. Not just a money factor...
lol, that is true. He will still be number 2 if he loses, but you're right I would bet half of his PPV buys are from fans who just wanna see the L.At least then, we would probably get the humble Floyd, now that he has no record to preserve and won't need to garner the hate to draw fans.I would still only see 2 more fights tops in his career left. I don't think he will have another match before Manny. He doing some vacation shit and training dudes at his own gym, then he probably gonna the train fuck out of himself for months to get ready to Manny.. If he wins, he will retire, no doubt. If Manny beats him, that will set up a rematch, and win or lose I see Floyd calling it quits after that.
