Tha Gataz Are "Endangered Species" On DJ Jam Presented Tape - By : Rud - August 7, 2010

Tha Gataz are an American hip-hip trio based in the Greater Los Angeles Area including the cities of Compton and Carson, California. The group, who have already been likened to Public Enemy and NWA, consists of Louisiana native Edward “C’Nyle” Bradford (formerly known as C’), North Carolina-born Lee “Lil Lee” Harris and California native Robert “Alkatraz” Godwin. The group formerly known as ‘Tha Animosity Gataz’ but later changed their name to Tha Gataz original musical style was a mixture of Soul and G-Funk. As their work together has grown as has its influeces with Funk, Pop, Rock Poetry, Jazz and Blues elements now being heard in the groups material.

The trio have already been featured in the mainstream, on Master P’s West Coast Bad Boyz III compilation album and VH1 Motion Pictures PLAY’d. Tha Gataz are a self-contained entertainment company and group. They do their own graphics, produce their own music and shoot their own music videos. Lil Lee produces all the tracks, C’Nyle films and edits all Music Videos and Commercials and Alkatraz is the Sound Designer - Tha Gataz have all media angles covered!

Along with their commercial success, Tha Gataz has maintained an experimental approach in their music and is widely praised for their originality and artistic content. This is most definitely heard on their new mixtape which is presented by DJ Jam. "Endangered Species" is available for free download below and showcases the group across over 25 tracks, with features from various artists including Knoc-Turn'Al. We also have a video for the track "Exhibit C" available to view below - the quality of the music and the video, which as above the group produces in house - is testament to their abilities as a collective.

^ I like the beat and Knoc's hook. His verse is decent but the vocals sound off. Like he was recorded too loud or something.
