brotha lynch has a HUGE following on the horrorcore scene  (horrorcore is probably biggest in the midwest where it originated)

Yes.
This isn't a very good question for a board with so many europeans. They seem to look at the phrase "west coast" and immediately think hip hop, neglecting the fact there really is a place known as the west coast and millions live there.

There are a lot of people who don't listen to his music, but that are familiar with the man if you bring up his name, and will often meet the subject with a chuckle as he is legendary not for his flow, but subject matter.

Almost every person under 30 in Northern California will know what you are talking about if you bring up his name. I'd say that earns a "legendary" status no matter how you cut it.
