for most assist through 5 games


Rajon now has 82 assists through 5 games   (tonight he had 17 points, 15 assists and 8 rebounds)

I bet you wouldn't say that if he was passing it to Kobe 82 times in 5 games.

Technically, isn't that all he's suppose to do? Sure, it would be nice if he could knock down shots like Nash; but the job description of a PG is to "set up the offense" & that's what he does.

Plus, you're not giving him enough credit when it comes to driving to the basket; he's a monster in that regard & he gets rebounds; offensive & defensive, like it's nobody's business.

^if he developed a reliable jumpshot, he could be a top-tier player in this league. point guards who can't shoot somehow, someway always harm their team in one way or another. Anyone remember Kobe guarding Rondo in the Finals, sagging off him 3-4 feet when he was on the perimeter? Great passer, bad shooter. Being a bad shooter makes him pass more than he would if he had a shoot, thus boosting his assists.
