Why is there never love for Fashawn on here? I swear, if they're not talking about blood/crip shit or khakis and chucks, nobody on this site gives a shit.

Fact - Fashawn shits on 95% of any rappers in Cali.

It ain't just Fashawn. Blu, H.O.P.E., U-N-I, Chuuwee, they redefine the definition of criminally underrated.

If you're on an independent label most people won't know about you.  It shouldn't be surprising.  That's how it's always been.  That's why it used to be called underground.  BTW, for some reason you hardly ever hear that word used anymore.

So why is this song called Manny Pacquiao?  I only heard him reference him in the last five seconds.

That ain't even it though man. Plenty of independent/underground artists get a ton of chatter on this forum (Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussle, Bishop Lamont, G Malone, the list goes on) and it's because they all maintain that 90's gangsta style of westcoast rap.

I said it a year ago - if the rest of the coast took up Kendrick Lamar's style, we'd be in good shape. People laughed at me and I guarantee a lot of y'all still think Kendrick is soft. The end result? Kendrick is probably gonna blow bigger than any of these New West cats because he's not afraid to be himself. Fashawn is another one that's gotten a nice solid buzz for himself, especially being from Cali, and he's virtually done it all by himself without any major co-sign.

If you're shutting yourself off to artists like Fash, Kendrick, Blu, Murs, U-N-I, then the West is never going to get back on its feet. They are easily the illest Westcoast rappers (besides Game) and they could easily get something big going. But I believe they're going to be held back because a high percentage of Cali's hip-hop fan base is stuck on Nipsey Hussle type rappers.

What do you expect? I've said over and over this site should be renamed Europe's Death Row Affiliates fan club. Unless you can convince people here that Fashawn has been cosigned by Dre or used to roll with Suge they ain't interested, no matter how good the music is.

yeah i see what your saying. It's funny i've put a few people onto the artists you mentioned and they love listening to their shit, once they hear it they instantly love it. It's just a matter of getting this music to peoples ears. That's the challenge.
