Why are you even asking this question? Thats like saying does a homo take it in the rear?? Treach will kill Celly Cel anyday! Look how many hits he had compaired to one song Its Going Down Tonight the only hit Celly Cell had and had to remix it over and over agian throwing every other good rapper and thier momma on it to make it what it is and even to this day people rather bump the remix then the original with just him.

commercial success should is not a valid criterium (especially when is used as the prime criterium) to declare someone better than someone else. Silkk The Shocker sold way more records than Celly Cel, but that doesn't mean he's a better rapper...

Granted Treach is without a doubt better than Celly Cel, and is a rap legend on top of that. But it ain't because he sold more records. They do not appeal to the same demographics and are not competing on the same level. Celly Cel is a gangsta rapper and is up there with underground legends such as C-Bo or Z-Ro. Dude flows like crazy. Plus he was fucking with the best producers in the bay... Mike Mosley & Sam Bostic, Studio Ton or K-Lou, all of them are funk legends. Overall he has had a solid career with at least 2 classics (Heat 4 Yo Azz and Killa Kali) + a dope album (The G-Filez) which sold 300.000 copies with little to no promotion. I agree that the remix of It's Goin Down (from the G-Filez) sounded better than the original, mainly for its catchy hook, but it aint a bad thing though.

Even 2pac admitted that Ballin Thru The Hood was one of his favorite songs.

Now that being said of course Treach is more of a legend. That doesnt take anything away from Celly's raw talent. Treach is a corporate rapper, he had a major record deal (not a record deal with Sick Wid IT Records who later was affiliated with Jive who spent no budget on non-E-40 releases) and is music was way more marketable than Celly's. No wonder he sold more records.
