Talking about Melo in LA.

1-wtf is LA going to trade of equal value

2-why would Melo want to go to LA and play second fiddle to an aging Kobe?  He'll never surpass Kobe.  If he goes to NYK or NJN he sets his own legacy.

From what I heard on ESPN, they were going to offer Artest, but Denver would never agree to that.

So they think if it happens, it will be Odom & Bynum to Denver for Melo.

Then the though process behind that is that they will be unfuckablewith as long as Kobe is still great, then as he slowly fades away, Melo will step up & build his own Laker dynasty. So in a sense, the Lakers don't have to fall off the map when Kobe leaves.

Doubt it happens though.

Denver sorta gets fucked in that scenario. I heard the same thing, possibly Odom and and Bynum or Artest and Bynum. Either way, sucks for Denver. But they might get desperate. They are losing Carmelo one way or another once the year is over. Either way, It wont make me worry about the Lakers more because Melo is there. IF LA trades away Odom, there goes their bench. And even though Bynum is more brittle than a 90 year old woman with Osteoporosis, he's a big body to put down low and help clean up on the glass and clog the lane. The upside for the Lakers would be, if Carmelo comes they will at least have a player who's shot percentage doesnt drastically fall off in the clutch  :-X

i laugh at all the laker fans panicking, you guys must not have been following the lakeshow for very long...we are playing horrible ball, as we always do around this time of year, but it still took a mcdyess tip-in for the top in the league team to beat us. we're still 3rd in the west and still going to beast when the playoffs near. don't get me wrong, it is frustrating to see, but who actually thinks we're playing at our highest level?

The thing is man, it doesnt matter what you CAN do...it only matters what you ACTUALLY do. You say the Lakers always play bad right now, but this is different and you know it. Are the Lakers a bad team? Obviously not. I still assume that in order for the Spurs to get to the finals...they will have to go through the Lakers. There is no real reason to believe any other team in the West will just step up and go to the finals. They never do. In recent history it always seems to be either the Lakers or Spurs. Losing to the Spurs on a last second tip in isnt really that big of a deal. But I think Laker fans used to always feel confident that no matter how bad the TEAM played, Kobe could just carry them on his shoulders through a tough stretch. But it seems like that isnt really happening this year.

That's just typical lakerfans being typical lakerfans.  I was reading comments on espn message boards & those ingrates want Gasol traded now even though he's the reason they got to the finals 3 years in a row.  When you're defending champions, you're gonna get tougher play from everyone else.  They 4got how Kobe acted when the Lakers would get beat in the 1st round.  And of course the occasional opponents should give the Lakers their star player for Lakers garbage players.  Its obvious if the Thuggets traded marshmelo to the Lakers, they'd lose lots of fans.

And what the hell is the matter with Maverick fans last week? ???  When sportsnation showed the Spurs last second win over the Lakers in Dallas, the fans booed.  I thought Maverick fans hated the Lakers the most, Spurs 2nd most.

everybody need to realize we are just coming off 3 NBA Finals in a row ... it is not easy to do ... only the Celtics and Lakers made it four times in a row and you have to get back to the 80es to see that ...

who knows what will happen coming playoffs time ... right now I dont know , Im not either confident or negative ... as of now I think we will go to the WCF against SAS , imo we are a better team than the Spurs playoffs style i.e  halfcourt game but with SAS having HCA , playing very good b-ball and almost having a injury free season , it is very possible we will lose this series.

Even if we get to the Finals , I dont see us beating Boston without HCA , as of now and as much as I hate to say it , the Celtics look like the NBA champs

Maverick fans consider San Antonio a bigger rival than the Lakers. Its a Texas thing. Plus they play in the same division.

To be honest, I don't think it's that hard to do in the NBA. Go to three Final Fours in a row, that's a sick accomplishment. Not even make the Finals, just the semi's. The NBA is a weak league. Back in the day it seemed the Lakers & Celtics were there every single year, then in the 90's Jordan was there for more then half the entire decade lol, then the Lakers were back for 3 years, then the Pistons & Spurs ran shit, now it's the Lakers & Celtics again. Those two have like a year or two left & then the Heat with likely a few more small additions will be the team to beat for the next six-seven-eight years.

Basically if your roster is better then everyone else's, you can go to the Finals for years & years. I mean, if the Lakers had a proper replacement for Shaq, like the Pau Gasol thing right when Shaq left, there was a really good chance the Lakers would have made the Finals every single season for the entire decade lol.

Fixed that for yah! lol. The Pistons were good for what....2 years? One year crushing the Lakers in the finals. The next year losing to us  8)

^Yeah, but they were about to go back again, but then LeBron (whose apparently overrated) score 30 of the final 32 points in Game 7 against the Pistons in the ECF. I mean, that's what held them back, one dominating ass performance by somebody who will eventually go down as one of the greats.

The Pistons weren't as great as the Celtics or Lakers now, the Spurs back a few years back or the Lakers ten years ago, but I mean they won 60 games the season they lost to the Heat in the ECF & the Cavs the next season.

Just showing that a pretty good roster can almost make the Finals four years in a row.
