Question about Snoop Doggy Dogg's Vapors cut
« on: February 10, 2011, 02:32:42 AM »
Now, I know the Vapors is on Tha Dogg Father album and in the booklet the credits was a bit mixed up with the unreleased remix produced by Battlecat. It's a tight remix. I had it on a cassette tape around 1997/98 and I just recently discovered it's now missing. My question is: does anybody have this or a link to it??????? I gotta find that cut.

I thought this was unreleased. Snoop talked about this track in his recent interview that came out a few days ago.
"Hip Hop was better off when it was just Dre, Scarface, and Esco"

It's unreleased but, I think it did appear on CD as a radio promo. I think I still got the recording off the radio of it from that time. It did get a few airplays bcuz it was to appear on the Doggumentary EP back in 1997 on Death Row along with Midnight Love.

i know that the non-live version is unreleased.

I don't live for the man, but I do study him so I can hope my pimp hands one day become as strong as his. When i first started listening to him, my hands were only strong enough to crush a beetle.  Now that i've studied him for 15 years, my hands are strong enough to crush a dog.

maybe u should make a rip of that track, if u find ur cd.
some songs were played on diff radio-stations sporadicaly, like "vapors (battlecat remix), "dogg pound gangstaz (dr dre remix)", "black & brown" and the E-40 song feat Snoop and pac,
its all about findin ppl wit old casette-rips from that era..
all the New York/East coast-stuff is available (obscure radio-played remixes and such) because of dedicated collectors, but Death Row-stuff is still missin
some of em leaked tho,
like the "niggaz dont give a fuck-og radio rip (later leaked without the radio-tags)

No, I'm not talking about the live version. I have that vapors single on cd. I have that one. If I can recall, that live version was from SNL back in 1996 or 97. I'm talking about the battlecat remix with Teena Marie and Charlie Wilson on the chorus. I had it on 2 cassette. One with just the remix on it (on both sides, I think) and the other one was off tha radio. A radio station here in Detroit played it. I recorded off my boom box. LOL! I was kid back then. I was shocked when I first heard it bcuz I always thought that should have went on Tha Dogg Father. At that time, I would always have a blank tape in the recorder ready to go bcuz I never knew what I catch on the radio (exclusives).

Homie, I gotta find it and when I do I think I will convert it over. I think I will rip it. I got so much stuff I'm sitting on. I got so much cool, video clips from back at that time and up. Man, it's crazy. I just started converting some this stuff over like a little less than a year ago. I just don't want no problem with these "big companies". I don't want no red tape on my shit, u know? Even though, they're not doing nothing with this stuff right now and there's no plans for it to be used in the future. It's just tha point. I'mma give u an example: Remember the old BET special program "DocuGroove"?? Anyway, they did one with Dr. Dre. It was recorded while Dr. Dre was promoting the Chronic 2001 album. I think it was and an hour or 90 minutes long. Dre speaks about his time with growing up, NWA, his time at Death Row, and those early times at Aftermath.
