« on: March 11, 2011, 05:46:03 AM »
After all the hassle and interference from the label  whlle making lazers. Would lupe be able to make a classic album if he was left on his own ? To me he hasnt so far.

If Lupe hasn't made a classic album then no one has.

Food & Liquor is one of the classic albums in the past decade.

Food & Liquor isn't a classic but maybe a 4.5/5 album, at least for me... but it had classic records and the same can be said for The Cool

but neither album is a classic all the way through and I'd like to see somebody prove otherwise

when is there a hiccup on food & liquor?

"Sunshine" - never was big on this track, especially with the singing hook, but don't get me wrong it's nothing 'bad' by any means
"Pressure" - good beat, Lupe did nice but Jay-Z verse sucked and was underwhelming which brought the song down

minor "hiccups" as you put it which prevent it from being a classic  8)

EDIT: also never really cared for "I Gotcha" that much

Sunshine?  Aw, boy, you fucked up.  That's mos def a classic right there.  It's an ode to hip-hop while being a track for the ladies.

As for Jay it must be "Too much green you can't talk in my hue"

Food & Liquor is a classic.

I realized what the song was about, doesn't mean it still doesn't sound like crap with the singing, could have done without that

as for Jay, you can talk in his hue because you have enough green?  :P

American Gangster / Kingdom Come are good albums.

Food & Liquor is a classic, exceptional album

To me the cool is much better than food and liquor but neither are classics. I guess it depends what you term a classic. To me a classic album is an album you reguarly listen to front to back, including skits and like every track. Its got to be an album you regularly go back to even years on.

Food and Liquor and The Cool are people's personal favs but neither is a Classic at all. Not even close. To the dude who said if F&L isn't classic than what is: Illmatic, Ready To Die, OB4CL, Liquid Swords, The Chronic, The Infamous, Reasonable Doubt.... Get the drift? These are albums that are not even disputable... try and say Illmatic isn't classic. You will be laughed outta this place. If you think F&L is better than any of the mentioned albums then you are a Stan. You probably paid for 5 copies of Lasers and have LupEnd tattooed on your ass!
